"Here is Duke William" …….. I received the three new mounted Norman figures this morning from Clive and Sue at Grey Goose Collectables. For which - many thanks! These are very, very nice figures indeed ^&grin The Papal Banner is IMHO one of John's best Banners yet :salute::

Just neat stuff through and through. Should have my three next week.

Roy - Would you mind sharing who made the grass mat you're using in the photos. It is nice and short and goes well with the bases of those great new JJD figures. Thanks - Ken

Hi Ken - It's a bit of a custom job :) Some years ago I used rolls of "Javis Static Hairy Grass Mat Spring Mixture" to line my shelves. It was made for model railways and comes in 1200mm x 600mm rolls. (it is paper backed) I used ordinary PVA craft glue to stick it straight onto my shelves.

It looks OK but I had a go at making one of them look a bit less bland. I sanded it down in patches and glued and scattered Javis Scatter No31 Dark Earth into them. Then glued over original green and scattered Javis Static Grass No2 Summer mix over that (a good match for the grass on the JJD bases.) Was quite pleased with the result - I haven't got round to doing the others yet :redface2:

Thanks Roy, You gave me some very helpful info.
I'm looking to cover some IKEA bookcase shelves with something that looks good with JJD bases, and still allow the figures to stand easily and exactly where I want them.

These look great Roy! I see what you mean about the banner--very well done by JJ.
