As stated else where, we have had a large collection of soldiers come in for auction including a fair few of these figures. They are all stamped or marked with an 'H' inside a shield forming part of the word Heritage and one or two pieces also have M Tabony as well. We have no real knowledge of these and havent really found any info on them . It has been suggested that I try to post some pictures on here in order to help identify them. I'm not that tech savvy so we will see how this goes.

A critical point is we can find no reference points for values in our auction guides or from our online research so any indications of what people would realistically expect to pay per soldier at an auction would be handy. All the figures are unboxed but otherwise pretty much everything is undamaged and has just come from a display.

There are quite a lot so here are a few horsemen troopers to start with. Hopefully everything that follows will all be from the Napoleonic period.

The vendor wants them all in our November auction and so I need to get cracking on finding out as much as possible.

Any info would be appreciated

Kevin

I don't know if this is the same "Maison Militaire"; I keep thinking of a maker of kit figures. But currently Maison Militaire is a vendor, established in the late 90s. Their website is here:

https://maisonmilitaire.com/?v=7516fd43adaa

and there is contact info there. I believe that they are also a member of the forum; there is a "Maison Militaire" in our member list: https://forum.treefrogtreasures.com/member.php?1761-Maison-Militaire

I will defer to other forum members who are more familiar with MM than I.

As I mentioned previously, Martin Tabony is a member, but his last activity was in March of this year.

We do have this thread about Heritage Miniatures:

https://forum.treefrogtreasures.com/showthread.php?71347-Heritage-Minatures

That was first posted in April 2020, and there is more information about the Heritage brand, sold through Maison Militaire. There is a bit of an ambiguation in an early reply, confusing Maison Militaire's Heritage with an earlier company that sold Hinchliffe figures, but a reply clarifies that that was not the same maker as Heritage sold through MM. You should read that thread; I suspect it will answer some of your questions.

Hope that helps!

Prost!

Further to the good Brad’s post, Heritage has its own forum on here and from taking a very brief look, Maison Militaire was sold by Ken (don’t remember the last name) of Heritage and the new Maison Militaire doesn’t deal in traditional glossy figures. I would examine every thread to see if you can glean any information although I doubt you will find any useful information.

I don’t think there is anyone on here who can help. I think your best bet will be eBay but I assume you’ve already tried that.

I am always on Ebay on the look out for some Heritage Boxers. They also had a few unique Zulu War figures i would grab if i saw them. I think they were produced in relatively small quantities and anyone lucky enough to own them are holding on to them.

Heritage were a great loss to the hobby. I have some great figures sculpted by Ken and I think painted by Bruce Murray. ECW New Model Army, ACW Union and Confederate cavalry, Boxers, Sudan War British cavalry and AZW British and Natal cavalry. Always meant to get more and wished I had got Afghan tribal cavalry from the North West Frontier era that were released not long before Ken closed it down.

I remember sat in a hotel room in Alice Springs in August 2014 spending part of a work bonus that had just been paid to me on 12 mounted figures from Heritage. I didn't tell the wife but took her out for dinner.

But I am sure there are many collectors who regret not making certain purchases along the way. Oh for those Afghans!

I particularly liked Heritages Zulu and Sudan series and fortunately bought the ones I wanted. That said, I was fairly sure I would be making future purchases, however not to be. Felt they were filling a niche market for reasonably priced and quality sculpts for those members who were army builders. Disappointed when they stopped producing I think partly from Ken struggling with marketing technology. Luckily Martin came to his aid and he was my contact also. Robin.

These would be the Naval shore party figures. Robin.

These are some more examples of what I consider nice sculpts. Robin.
