Bob and I collect Hiriart's Spanish Civil War line which has 40 different catalog sets in it designated by their own set numbers. We ordered this set ES-12 BATALLON DEL REQUETE, TERCIOS DEL SUR, 1939. The Requetes were Catholic, Carlista Monarchists who fought on the Nationalist side. They are wearing their signature tasseled red berets.

I've kind of been out of action since February 8th due to a chronic tear of my radial collateral ligament in the right elbow plus right shoulder calcific tendinitis of the anterior and mid supraspinatus tendon and moderately extensive superficial and deep fascial edema of the deltoid muscle. No wonder it hurt so bad. I suspect that all this has something to do with carrying my 60 pound granddaughter around and/or lifting and moving those 50 + pound Hiriart boxes from Uruguay.

In any case, here is my new special version of set 1027 21ST LANCERS, SUDAN which I ordered with the officer wearing a spiked helmet and the men with their lancers in march order rather than the regular catalog set's charging.

Ain't it wonderful all the new experiences we enjoy as we
age ?

Toy soldiers and grandkids are two of the joys of life! But, please Mike, take care of yourself . . . Heal soon.

It sure is, but they are better than the alternative. On the bright side, although I injured ligaments, tendons, and muscles, my bones are just fine.

Thank you, Al. I will take care of myself and I have no intention of giving up my granddaughter, who I adore, nor toy soldiers which keep me busy for hours on end.

Mike

This is my set 1132 BANDA FUERZA AEREA de CHILE which is of course, a Chilean Air Force Band. I am not sure why it is called a Banda de Guerra (war band).
