Thanks Ken,
It took me a few tries until I finally settled on the figure positioning. The way the figures are sculpted I wanted to attempt to depict a firing advance. I know that tactic was more popular in WWII, but the concept lends itself so well to the impetuous reputation of this legendary unit. I think the officer adds some dramatic emotion to the scene as he is taking it upon himself to spur the men forward. The color bearer hasn’t quite gotten the memo yet, perhaps he’s taking a moment to collect himself since the man in front of him has just been hit.
The H&A groundwork is a great tool for constructing the terrain. The ability to actually “plant” your bushes and shrubs really adds to the presentation. I also like how you can build it up in places where you want a bit of elevation. As always, your tips and suggestions were very helpful. I especially like how the worn leather on the cartridge box and cap pouch turned out. Look forward to seeing you and Ericka again next time you’re in the Buckeye state.
Thanks again,
Shane
