Hitler ourside Bunker 20 April 1945 (4 Viewers)

and another close up picture of the same tanks where you can clearly see the gas installation on the back of the tank.
Why I think it's a movie they are making : because a lot is going on in the picture , one soldier has fallen to the ground ,others are running away while the bystanders are just looking on without any panic.
All this early April 1945 in Berlin

Gary, last night I was looking at my old TS&MF magazines and I think, in issue #3, there was an article about you as a kid throwing dominoes at your soldiers with your brother. Neat story.

Dear "Go for Broke":

Wow, I never tought anyone at the Forum would bring up my first article I wrote for TS&MF magazine! It was a 2/3 of a page article about my childhood memories of playing with toy soldiers and also a tribute to my 15 years older brother Peter who died in 1989. The first issue of Toy Soldier & Model Figure was issued for the then bi-monthly issue of August-September 1995. My childhood memories article appears in TS&MF's Issue#6 for April-May 1996. I have kept every issue of TS&MF from the first one in 1995 to date! I gave up keeping them in TS&MF's dark green binders as they took up too much space and became rather expensive at $18.00 USD per binder. I have become at least good "pen pals" with the TS&MF editor, Stuart Hessney, who has been the editor since 2003 and lives in upstate New York.

I just recently submitted an article with photos on my Laurel & Hardy (L&H) miniatures on display and which also notes how I became a L&H fan in 1957 as a boy and a brief history on L&H. It should be published most likely in 2016.

Thanks very much for making note of my first article I had published in 1996. I had many other articles in TS&MF over the years, the main ones being in Issue 66 in Nov. 2003 on Zulu war dio; Issue 78, Nov.2004 on Streets of Old Hong Kong; Issue 87, Aug. 2005 on my overview of my then 14 years of collecting, Issue 95, Apr.. 1996 on eBay selling; Issue 166, Mar. 2012 on Ancient Egypt; Issue 186, Nov. 2013 on my 19th century displays; Issue 192, May 2014 on my WW2 displays and Issue 199, Dec. 2014 on my WW1 display which was also in part a tribute to my father.

Have you had any artilce published in TS&MG????

Best regards, Gary

I've read most, if not all your articles. I liked your first one the best, because it recalls a simpler time. A good life is good memories. No, I've had nothing published. Merry Christmas.

Thanks for reply back. I agree that good childhood memories are the best. Merry Christmas and happy collecting in 2016!

I have the whole Bunker set with figures myself. I Am going to build a similar back drop building as this looks great and Historically accurate !

Have been thinking the same thing for some time Wayne. This may go on the list to my model maker. The building is fairly distinctive and is basic in appearance, I think my man would eat this up. Robin.

How much? Call me at (312)636-5337 Thanks!

Micheal, if you're looking to buy something you need to head down to the 'Wanted Section' of the forum and start a thread announcing what you're looking for rather than tacking onto old posts.

Cheers.

Out of curiosity I checked the price....666.66 euros which = $751 odd US or about $970 odd OZ!, that's Million or so Kiwi Drachmas :wink2: don't know if that includes the K&C bits? Anyway judging from the pictures it could be a straight forward build, the round windows might present a challenge. Guessing about maximum $20/$30 in materials, build time is a different issue. IMHO of course.

I think that is a standard price for dioramas when you look around at those ''professionals'' doing this. King and country's are a few thousand and again as you mention raw materials depending on the quality used are not expensive. Man hours are the big factor added into diorama building though I think looking at some they would take a few hours so a handsome hourly rate

Putting a price on a diorama depends on many factors.
first: you have the man hours spent in research and preparation ( I always make a drawing first of what I want to make)
second: gathering all the bits and pieces ( sometimes you need to invest heavily in an article of which you only need a small part)
The more detail you put in your dio the more expensive it gets.
third : building the diorama ( the basic material for scratch built buildings is not too expensive but here again the hours spent putting it together, making it fit and giving it it's final look - not inclusive of painting it- are adding up very quickly)
fourth: the paint-work ,which is a very important part if you want your diorama to have a realistic look
Last but not least all the figures and vehicles you put in your dio.
I have sold customised dioramas from €325 up to € 1750 ( figures and vehicles included)
guy:)

Has anyone else caught this but they have the bunker orientation wrong. The narrow side with the door should have been facing to the front as in the K&C Diorama.

Wayne
