I'm wondering if anybody has had any experience, pro or con, with an ebay seller by the name of hkpegasus, based in Hong Kong. He's got things with a really inexpensive opening bid. If it's con, please send me a pm.

Brad-

I made bids on the two FoB items. If I win, I'll tell you if it's to good to be true or if it's the deal of the year :)

HKPegasus is a regular seller on eBay UK and has been over the past few months. I've bid, but never won any items so cannot comment on there customer service, but have no reason to believe that the're not legit.
It looks like they adopted an early policy of starting everything out at a 99p bid, which catches peoples interest, and the bidders bump the prices up.

In general terms, when you take the shipping in to account, the sale prices end up lower than UK sale prices, but on par with, or higher than US sale prices.

Robert,

Thanks for the feedback. Always good to hear from someone who has been a customer.

Welcome, also, to the Forum!

Brad,

If you go to your eBay home page you'll find on the bottom left a "global sites" option.

Take Hong Kong and then of the top 5 buttons on the top-right you just pick the one furthest left with the 3 symbols. (They mean "buy"), i.e. the layout is just like the global one.

You then just enter whatever variation you have on your K&C seraches in the usual spot and also check the box for "search title and description".

You'll find that there are 3 or so different K&C sellers. I'm sure Andy keeps an eye on them if they're under his nose! All would appear to be legit.

However, if you check the spot where you usually watch the item and then re-open it in your American version of eBay you can follow some of the small print a little more easily, e.g. shipping charges, which are relatively high. HK Pegasus had quite a lot of Napoleonic on hand for several months at one stage but seems to have worked through all that now.

His eBay store is "Dragon Agent" -

Thank you for welcoming me to the forum I am slowly getting round it but it is all good so far, and I am about to buy my first items from the shop.

Take care speak again soon

Robert.

Low starting bids with subsequent high sale prices have always been a good indication of a popular collectable. Whereas high starting bids suggest something to be wary of ;)

I bid on about 17 of his offerings but didn't win a nary one  The problem, as an American buyer, is that you're pricing these in US dollars whereas these sets are more expensive in Europe. For example one of the FoBs costs $25 in the USA but approximately 22 Pounds in Europe, or $44. Unless you can get them cheaply, after you factor in shipping of $10, once it goes over a 5 Pound bid it isn't worth it if you're an American buyer as you're saving very little. However, if one of the items sells for 11 Pounds, that's a good deal if you live in Europe.
