untitled-6.jpg This is a better photo of the Crimean War gunboat HMS LION that you might be interested in viewing because the detail is better. Only 29 were made. Enjoy! Tommy

I'll give you $150- or maybe $200 if you ship it free....

{sm4}Just kidding, that is one GREAT piece!

Tommy, that's beautiful! Has to be one of the best of the best in the toy soldier world.

Superb! What a stunning piece by Trophy.
For me, that's what toy soldier collecting is all about. - Makes me smile just looking at it.

Agree with Dragoon - an absolute stunner! Trophy Paddle-steamers just HAVE to be amongst the best TS boats ever made. I love them too - and you are looking after her superbly too Tommy. Well done and thanks for showing her off = johnnybach

Thanks everyone. In 2002 Mike Laeding(Trophy of Texas) and I went to the Chicago show with this LION and the EAGLE for sale at $2650 each. Lots of lookers but no takers. I thought the LION was the best of the Trophy boats and swallowed hard and bought it which I have never regretted. I have my collection displayed in my office but I wish I had a room at home like Pat Wade(Thread-The view from my chair). Tommy

It's a Classic by Len Tommy and never duplicated by anyoe else and I'm happy to see it as part of your collection. Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm taking the liberty of adding a few close ups of it's crew in action and a different view of HMS Lion...........Joe

Thanks Joe for the closeup photos. Tommy

You'd be surprised how much is hand made from cutting jigs etc. instead of being moulded. We were going through the patterns a couple of months ago, there's a lot!!!!!:)

Hi Tommy,

I remember seeing it at the show and I even remember that Mike had a helper---little did I know it was you. Didn't he have it displayed in the hallway outside his room by the window? I thought about buying it, but it was a little steep for my blood. Great pick up.

Thanks Mike. Yes, it was displayed there. Tommy
