Honour Bound Gold Edition Tiger for sale on eBay (1 Viewer)

What is special about the Honour Bound Gold Edition Tiger ?

I know this is retired and hard to find, but there are so many Tigers out there made by others.

As a collector, I am status ignoramus about tanks, AFVs, warbirds etc.^&confuse

Thanks, Raymond:redface2:

Raymond,

The Gold Edition Tigers are some of the best ever made. The only Tiger that equals or surpasses it is the recent Figarti one.

At any rate, very few of the HB ones show up on eBay because they are prized by the owners, not to mention HB doesn't make tanks anymore. I think the price is a fair one

Brad,

Thanks very much for the information.

I did some searching on the web and the Honour Bound Gold Edition website is closed. Was Ana's late husband the driving force behind this project ?

There are great shots of the fmethorst's Wehrmacht version in an old thread. It also shows a Michael Wittmann version.

It is a pity there are no figures offered with the tank. I am guessing, but the tricamo must be a Waffen SS version for Normandy.

Anyway, I have put it on my watchlist. I doubt it will end at $600.00.

Best Wishes for 2012,

Raymond:)

Raymond,

I don't know if Daniel was but the HB tanks were superb. Unfortunately, the Argentine economy killed them and they had to shut down the tank line.

I know there were some older threads that had photos but not sure the photos survived.

I'm not sure if it's a negative if there are no figures. As I recall figures were an option and not included.

Hope you have a good New Years as well.

Brad

HB AFV's are still the best on the market. Having seen the figarti recent version its a shadow of these ones for sure. I did not see a noticable step up in quality from the so called normal ranges to the gold series. I think the quality was always top notch and, the gold series was just a marketing name for the unique way they offered a service of choice.

I would have thought offering a tiger I of the quality as a open ended run would have made so many sales it would have made your head spin!!!

Its a very reasonable price, about £386 GBP which, is less than I paid for my version when they were available. someone is going to be happy with this figures or not.

Just my 2 cents worth:

Heck, you got to be kidding me. Are you guys aren't just reminiscing about the good old days when HB made these beautiful Tigers?

I have 3 of these HB Gold Tigers and they are great and worth every penny they are getting on eBay. However, time marches on and so does technology, technique and competition that pushes it.

For me, Figarti makes a better Tiger I. Love their modeling, weathering, and the extras like hatches that open and a gun that recoils on my AFV’s and along with the detailing and weathering. BTW, didn’t these sellout seemingly within days of their release?

Isn’t this like comparing a classic 1960’s Corvette with a 2011 Corvette? Aren’t both fantastic for different reasons?

Carlos...

Not at all. I have not heard anyone pull a HB AFV apart, far from it and, its not really days gone by. The Figarti tiger 1 may be liked by some but, I know a fair few including some on here who thought it was poor from paintwork to detail including the recoil barral with all the metal showing.

Hello Chan,

Thanks very much for the heads up on Toy Soldiers USA.

If you do a search on the forum for "Honour Bound Gold Edition Tiger", there are several old threads with photographs of the Gold Edition Tigers owned by our members.

Also, George's (Warrior) website ie: the Minuteman Toy Soldiers website has pictures and a brief notation.

Best Wishes for a very Happy New Year down under.

Raymond:)

I was among some of those here Mitch . . . but I changed my mind after purchasing the Figarti Tiger 1. It's a bargain, but I still think you can't beat HB's tank tracks.

I was a Dealer for these HB Gold Edition Tiger's when they were sold in April 2008, so here are the prices for HB Tiger. I sold five and bought one for myself. A basic Tiger started at $350 and the most expensive one I sold cost $611, a work of art by the way. Hope this gives everyone some more insight on this Tiger, Andy

The new Honour Bound Gold Edition is ready to go. The new tank has a much higher detail than our previous line, and will be able to be customized by the customer on many features. The colour options will be 4, winter, double-colour, triple-colour and plain. Each of those versions will offer 3 varieties for each. Then, the collector will choose the markings, regiment and number, how many skirts he will want attached, etc. These options will have a unique cost for the cutomer of $350 plus shipping. The extras (battle damage, scenery, crew ,accessories and any special feature that the customer might want) will have extra cost.

Basic tank: $350
Crew of 3: $76
Battle damage $22
Accessories $34 (including side logs)
Scene $ 77 ($65 + $12 added shipping)
Killing marks $22
Shipping $30 from Argentina
Total: $611

I would of spent that for a TIGER of my choice.

Steel wheels...

You can add any crew you want that you have with this AFV and they all look great with it. You have to remember that crew were extra with this variant and, I know people who did not buy theirs with HB figures so, this may actually be a complete unit
Mitch

No crew makes this a little incomplete, for the money.
