I just listed some HB Panthers on eBay. Ana found them on a shelf in her workshop, so they come without a box (but are beautifully bubble wrapped for shipping). There are figures included...but not necessarily the original ones from the sets

HONOUR BOUND HB01a - Barkmanns Ausf A Panther #424 Tank

HONOUR BOUND HB02 - Winter Panther Tank

HONOUR BOUND HB05c - German Bergepanther Recovery Tank

HONOUR BOUND Tank HB01c Resupplying Panther #421 Ausf A

I see only one of the these four HB items sold on eBay.......

The starting prices were quite reasonable, in fact below MSRP.

Is it because of the coming holiday weekend they all didn't sell...or is it something about the economy in general....or maybe how the photos were portrayed ( a little different ) than the 'normal' images we're use to seeing..??

I'd like to ask what others here think about this...after all these are rare items now....:)

Honestly the honor bound panthers i usually see go for the most money and actually SELL on ebay are out of box BUT they have very reasonable starting prices nowheres near $100 they all have starting bids of about $20 and end up selling for $150 and up. I personally wouldnt bid on an hb panther with a STARTING bid of $150 and up. Then again thats my opinion so you can take that for what its worth.

All about timing. I sold a duplicate Panther complete set mint in box for 225. Opening bid was 199. Again, it is timing. This was in the last year.

I view ebay like this. If I am interested in an item, I watch it. As it draws to a close, I recheck the price and bid according to my own internal metric. I really don't care where it starts, what matters most is how much it will cost me. I have a limit I set. Now, it is nice to steal some once in awhile, but an item like this, the price is what it is. They will all sell eventually I bet!

They are not complete sets and the lack of photos of the figures that will come with them means bidders don't know exactly what they are getting. I think fixing that would help.

I'm with Terry on this. I think the lack of original crews and the box kept the hard core collectors at bay. I was thisclose to bidding on one at the last minute but could not pull the trigger. I also think a starting price of around $99 would generate interest and bids.
Now, if Ana discovers a few Shermans in the back, look out!

i agree, the crew was a big question mark.

and i was more keen on the Soviet panther and the HB sturmtiger models, so hopefully, something comes up :)

Good luck on the Sturmtiger. Depending on who I have spoken to, only one was completed, or 6 were? I know where one is but not any others. And I know more collectors who would pay almost anything to get one then were ever made.

i think only frank has a sturmtiger?

anyway, if it comes up, i'm all eyes.

it'll be tough competition, but at least i'll try seriously.

You're right, on one Sturmtiger made, I don't have t, LOL.

Carlos

I know Frank has one, and he has told me it is the only one made. I also know of other people who put an order in, but too late to get one. And a few other veteran collectors have told me there were others made and sold, but I have not seen them so I don't know.

Guys, good pts on here. You need the crews to match up to max value. I re-read the descriptions and can now see why they didn't all sell. If these were complete, easy sells.
