Can someone offer a solution to one of the RAF crewman in set RAF008 (kneeling with an oil can)? Say you placed him on the aircraft wing. He's precariously balanced on one knee, and bound to slide off the wing. Clunk! So I tried placing him near the landing gear/tire. The Sargent would promptly berate him, pouring oil on the ground near the tire=not good!{sm0} Also, what is he supposed to be oiling, assuming that's an oil can? This guy's bound to be demoted...Ollie_D.

The leading aircraftman (on the right), is that an oil can in his hand, and what could he be oiling, in a scene? Perhaps an oil cup, located on a wing? In that case, should there be a lid? ^&confuse

Ollie, I find he sits on the wing quite nicely, if you don't bump the plane too often he seems to stay up ok.

It would be nice if you could remove the oilcan and squeeze the tip of the nozzle (attached to the
fuel bowser hose) in his hand.

Humbug; Your on to something here. Possibly rework the figure with a dremel tool, remove the and insert fuel nozzle? He could perch on the wing, take a flex hose from a fuel Bowser, and viola. You have a functional vignette.

Not sure what the chaps on the wing are involved in, but you can assume it involves an open wing compartment. To replicate a scene would also entail some significant surgical modifications to your aircraft...if your willing to sacrifice, or risk devaluing your collectable piece.

Update: How are you displaying your RAF crewman?

My little-teapot aircraftman just slid off the wing of my American Eagle Spitfire...He's fired!!!:mad:

Knowing how the military operates (retired from 20 years service) I decided for the best interest of everyone involved, to "re-purpose" oil-can Harry. Found a 1:32 bucket, (can't remember where from exactly...maybe my CS Autoblinda?) so he's disposing said oil in accordance with regulations :rolleyes2:

Very good solution! Certainly much easier to implement than Humbug's ingenious and creative suggestion. With your permission, I'll do the same with mine! {sm4}
