Our collection, and how we display & add to it depends on the range.
Me & the Wife's Collection.
Ancient Egypt:We have a small display comprising Cleopatra set w/Nubian Bodyguard, Caesar & Mark Antony Gift Givers set, Royal Mascot set, Court Musician set, a couple of the Dancing Girls sets, a Standing Centurion & couple of Standing w/Spear from the Ancient Rome set.
I can't see us adding to this. Maybe a couple of Standing Guardsmen w/Spear to balance out the quantity of Romans.
Wife's Collection.
LAH:Quite a few multiples. This is the only range we have that contains more than 2 multiples, cos that's what this range screams out for.
Me & the Wife's Collection.
S of OHK + Imperial:This is an ongoing labour of love. We have maybe around 75% of the available range plus some retirements. We will probably get more facades next year. Only have one facade and the Pagoda so far cos we've been concentrating on obtaining the figurines first.
We mix and match some of the SOHK and Imperial as the mood takes us. We do have quite a large "tongue-in-cheek" display set in "Old Wanchai" that incorporates too many sets to mention here - but the theme is a somewhat "riotous assembly" with wine customers, bar-bill defaulters caught by Imp troops doubling as bar-room bouncers, old "Mama-San" Tsui-Tsi and her cohorts overseeing events and tallying up tonights takings, Ancient Egypt Girls doubling as Go-Go Dancers, Imp and SOHK musicians as "the Band" and the 4 ladies from the Imp Collection as the "Back-Up Singers". Oh and the concubine from the Imp Collection arriving in her Horse-Drawn Wagon for an audition as a Go-Go Dancer, with the Mother and Daughter from SOHK sitting in the Pagoda.
"
See now, Yan-Yan, you stick in at your school lessons - and if you're lucky, you might end up getting a well-paid job like that".
Plus a time-travelling Nap Scottish Bagpiper charming the local ladies and adding to the general bedlam....!!!!
There's more but you get the general idea.
Rest of the ranges we collect are mine.
WW2:My main interest here is AFV's, but I like to add sets of figurines as they complement the vehicles so well.
Crusaders:Only have a few of these at present. Am considering having paint job conversions to depict Robert the Bruce and some of his lieutenants at the Battle of Bannockburn 1314. This is a long-term project/thought as there's other priorities at the moment.
FINALLY
Naps
Have around 60% of what's available with a few retirements. No multiples so far - but you know how that one goes. Intention is to collect the entire range.
