Being the nosy type, I was curious how many are buying the Karl Morser. Count me in :)

I had to choose two options so a No is included but just interested in the Yes-es.

Re: How Many Are Getting the Karl Morser

I just reserved the Karl Morser 54cm and the railway carrier. Should be in by Christmas.

As I have mentioned, this is the first time at the Chicago Show that I heard collectors say that a Figarti product was inexpensive. Normally, I hear comments that the vehicles are nice, but too expensive. I believe the Karl at $399 will be "sold out" very quickly. I ordered both. :)

I'm just getting the gun because not sure I can swing the railway carrier (which includes two pieces of track) so you're talking appromixately 400.

Although you can vote No if you wish, I was just looking for Yes votes to see how quickly it may go as the No votes don't count against the Yes votes. Unfortunately, the software makes me pick a minimum of two options.

I preordered both
What's the deal with Sierra at 625$ each
That would leave me out for sure
Anybody has any clue on this?
Thank u

They say that the increased cost is due to shipping. They must be sending each one by first class seating because that's an extra $225. I think that's their way of saying they want no part of selling it because not all dealers want to carry it due to Figarti asking dealers to take a cut on these items in order to make them more affordable to collectors.

Sierra obviously knows no one is going to order it at that price and that is obviously fine with them.

Being train related, I ordered all figarti train related items.

Voted no as the price is too rich for my blood, but I would love to have it and that lovely steam engine.:( -- Al

I apologize for my obvious lack of connectivity to the Figarti clan: where can I pre-order this extreme example of German armory?

Andreas,

Glad to help. By the way, his phone number is 508 822 1084.

Cheers,

Dear All,

Figarti's suggested retail price (SRP) of $399 for the Karl Morser 54 cm (ETG-030) is listed on our website in the New Releases Section. The SRP for the as yet unlisted Karl Morser Railway Carrier (ETG-032) is $399. Also listed on our website is the SRP for the following sets:

Flatbed Wagon $199
Gondola Wagon $199
Boxcar Wagon $209
Light Flatcar Wagon $179
Track Barrier $119
Water Column $99
Low Goods Wagon $159
Passenger Wagon $199
Extra Tracks $69

Except dealers outside the U.S. and Europe and "Stun and Awe" items, Figarti ships everything directly to its two distributors: Hobby Bunker in U.S. and Grey Goose Collectables in Europe, and they then distribute our products to dealers.

As previously posted, our distributors agreed to a lower margin on 3 of our larger products so we could provide a more affordable price to collectors: Karl Morser 54 cm (ETG-030), Karl Morser Railway Carrier (ETG-032) and the BR 52 Locomotive (ETG-033). All the other Reichsbahn sets are at regular margins.

If you have any questions regarding pricing, please contact your dealer or Figarti's distributors. If there are any specific inquiries, please feel free to email us at sales@figarti.com or send me a PM.

Thank you for your support.

I voted no as I am not into WWII german trains.
Still a great set.
I am sure that it will sell out and be very popular.
Well done Figarti

Jazzeum...

An interesting thread. I have not seen such responses from a release from a manufacturer not on here but, through PM and e-mail about a piece and value.

The prices are certainly IMO good value for what you are getting and Figarti should be congratulated for doing it the way they have and, bringing shock and awe with product and price. As with the rail gun the Karl series could have been significantly more with a single piece of track covering all three sections so, for £600 for the whole set in the UK and £319 for Odin itself its a great deal. For the gun itself its not much more than some AFV's and for the size and detail I have seen on the pictures its a good price.

Confusion seems to have surrounded this set as some dealers have willingly taken 'the hit' some not so but, for once it seems that obviously, Figarti want to make a profit which, they will, they have importantly, thought about the customer.

Price gouging, pure and simple.

The poll is a lot closer than I thought it would be. But, redo this at Christamas and ask who wished they had got it may, bring up bigger differences of opinion
