How Toy Soldiers saved the world! (2 Viewers)

I saw a documentary, "Belle Époque" (1981), narrated by Douglas Fairbanks Jr, on the early 1900s. It would break your heart to a key wound toy tank running down some Britains Ltd. cavalry as to illustrate how war changed in WW I.

well, what were the production numbers of heyde, elastolin, mignot and the other non-british makers? you know there kids playing with toy soldiers in other countries, right?

Monash... I have heard this many times in the last few days!!!!!!!

Mitch,

Monash is the most famous Aussie Military General so it is hardly surprising that he gets mentioned in a few places. He taught Haig a thing or two about fighting the Germans in WWI. Much more highly regarded than the top WWII Aussie General, Blamey.

He would be very well known to all Aussies and not just to Howard who comes from his home state. However I might have to check if the schools even know who he is.

Regards
Brett{sm4}.

Brett...

I am well aware of who he is and, the history. I was, as I am sure you know well, commenting on his usage at a different latitudinal location for entertainment purposes!!!

Mitch mate,
No problermo!!^&grin The Brissy Brigade is expanding at a rapid rate and now with the return of good mates, Chris (Simpson) and Matt (Oz Digger), well anything is possible.
This June's meeting of collectors in Brisbane (the fourth since 2009) could outstrip in numbers previous years. Brett is doing an outstaning job in promoting the hobby. Ruffles a few feathers along the way.^&grin^&grin
Must get to a London Show soon to meet some of the "Old Country" treefroggers.
Cheers Howard
