Hudson & Allen does the Franco-Prussian War (4 Viewers)

All of the H&A bases I ordered finally arrived. We have fully fit together the basic diorama on the floor (I am having a contractor build a shelf to permanently display it on, at which time I will add some gravel and rubble to better disguise the joints between the modular base sections and the TM Terrain Church diorama, and H&A burning European Village backdrops will be placed to the rear and sides of the shelf). Alec took some photos of the diorama with all of the base pieces in place:

Looks like you are having way too much fun Louis. There is always a sense of satisfaction when a scene you envisaged finally comes together successfully. As a permanent display it is a beauty. Robin.

Robin,

Now I have to exercise patience, because the First Legion Tirailleurs Algerians, and the Team Miniatures Tirailleurs Algerians and Prussian Cuirassiers, as well as their expected further Franco Prussian War releases will really bring the diorama to life!😎

Louis, thanks so much for documenting this diorama coming together. Its been so fun going on the journey with you.... Its looking so amazing.
Jas

Jas,

Now all I need is for First Legion and Team Miniatures to release the upcoming Algerian Tirialleurs and Prussian Cuirassiers (along with any further Franco Prussian War releases in the pipeline) and my son Alec and I can fully populate the diorama.:salute::

It’s so exciting. I love this range. I did not collect this period until TM did it. They did it so well I couldn’t fight it.

The Team Miniatures Algerian Tirialleurs have arrived and been added to the diorama:

Great looking figures Louis. They say the French can't fight but they are masters at designing cool uniforms.

During the U.S. Civil War, both sides copied the French Uniforms, with our elite volunteer regiments often copying Chasseur, Zouave and Tirialleur uniforms. That is what got me into collection Franco-Prussian War through WWI French Uniforms, they look remarkably like U.S. Civil War uniforms, but are affordable, which U.S. Civil War uniforms are not. For example, I have a Civil War N.Y. Volunteer Regiment Chasseur Cap that cost me about what I paid for an entire WWI Uniform.

A few more shots of the diorama now that the cavalry has arrived . . .
