Hurricane Barry... (2 Viewers)

I don't "like it cold"; I can tolerate the cold. Most of the time, I wear a hooded zip up sweatshirt and a zip up Celtics lightweight jacket or a Patriots lightweight jacket, I hate big bulky coats, I dress in layers, my Dad always used to say "Aren't you cold dressed like that?"...…….no, I'm not.

I'm a human heat pump, I don't like to be outside when it's 90 and sweat is rolling off of me, it's uncomfortable and a pain in the ***, even worse to work in it.

For the 4,945th time; to each his own.

George, a night in a foxhole in cold *** Korea will cure anyone of liking the cold. I became born again after two tours of doing that chit. And I had my fill of snow in Northern Japan, where we would put our beer in the snow outside the second story barrack windows in the winter time. Ugh!

However comma, George have you ever considered that you may be sexy when your sweaty? I mean chicks dig a sweaty hard working man from Boston and by sweating you release pheromones to attract the other sex. George, this is primordial stuff man that you can't ignore.

"47 bottles of gold bond" that is too funny George.

John from Texas

PS: Hey Mike Im coming to Galveston in November for the night before a cruise to Honduras...will you be in town?

Extreme cold is not fun either; it's not bad during the day when the sun is out, but at night in the dark is not fun, you just deal with it and stay indoors if need be.

I'm trying to talk Mike into coming to the Chicago show with you, I think Jason is coming too; imagine you, Mike, me and Jason in Chicago?

I'd shut my room down and hang out with you guys instead...……………..we could write a book about the "adventures"...………….would love to see it.

I've never minded the cold too much so long as it's not windy. The wind can be absolutely brutal though. In terms of heat, humidity is a beast. I have relatives down south and summer can be unbearable. Not to mention the bugs. I have to admire those folks back in the day who always dressed up in a suit and tie even on the hottest days. I'm old enough to remember when men wore suits on airplanes. Some of those old films of fans at baseball games all dressed up are a hoot. They must have had a great tolerance for heat.

YEAH George,

Seriously considering doing the Chicago trip with Mike. I got to get ahold of him to coordinate when the time comes. That would be a hoot! We have to get a dipped sangwich.

Jason...
you might probably stay on the west coast this summer...
that might a wee too much for you...^&grin
August is even hotter...

Mike:

As I run my mouth about the weather in Texas I am actually in the Bay Area. The land of anything over 80 is hot and anything below 60 is cold.

I'll be in Texas on Saturday morning.

Jason,

I actually enjoyed our trip to San Francisco this past spring break. Yeah, it got kinda cold, but what a town. May be back later this year.

Its nice and hot right how for you,

John:

Next time you are here please let me know. If I am in Cali (and if you are not busy) I'd be happy to take you to lunch etc.

Yup, looks warm for a few more days in Texas but also looks like we might be getting some thunder storms next week which could drops the temps into the high 80's.

I'm with George and Jason on the heat, as you can see I live in Darwin, Australia and it's at the top part of Oz not far from Asia. So as you can imagine it gets bloody hot here with very high humidity during our rainy season or Aussie summers. I have to have the A/C blasting away and 5 showers a day to wash off the sweat! At the moment it's great weather, cool to coldish nights and early mornings before warming up to sunny days. No humidity atm either but that's because it's winter in Oz and most places are freezing! I'll probably move in the next year or so to a much cooler place in Oz.

I also read in the posts that young John, Mike and maybe Jason might come to the CTSS this year?? Well fellas, I have booked my flights and accommodation so if you come then you'll see my mug at the bar! {sm3} George mate, shut your room early and have a drink or 10 with me! ^&grin

Great news, I look forward to seeing you and having a drink or ten with you as well.

Today here was hot, hot, HOT, 98, felt like 105-110, very high humidity.

Lowered the AC to 68, the condo temp crept up to 69, then 70, it sat at 71 and at 8:00pm, it's still sitting at 71, the AC will run non stop probably now for two days strait.

Same deal for tomorrow with the temps, then Monday and Tuesday temps will drop to 75-80?

I don't get it, but whatever.

I barricaded myself into my condo today, went out early for a quick errand that's it.

Just so grateful to have AC, nothing worse than trying to sleep sweltering in the heat, it's barbaric.

The weathermen are having a field day, they're making it sound like the end of the world is coming, love how they always find some clambrain who's roofing, laying asphalt or working in a pizza joint drenched in sweat and the comment is always "Ah, it's not bad, you get used to almost dropping dead from heat stroke"...……………….."Ok then; back to you in the air conditioned studio then Jack and Liz!"...…………..

Cheers George, I'll probably arrive at the hotel around 9:30 - 10pm ish so if your perched by the bar then i'll stop and have a beer or 3 with ya before collapsing after my epic flights!

Yeah, I'm already dreading the arrival of the heat and humidity, it's probably only a bit over a month away! My A/C gets a pummelling as well and I hate my power bills! I take my hat off to the blokes working on the roads and highways and on roofs, I wouldn't last an hour in those jobs!

Tom

Gee, I didn't remember moving to Texas ...:rolleyes2:

The temp hit 104 yesterday and 101 today.
Humidity was worse than I can remember in years ..... AND THIS IS MAINE!!! {eek3}

Maybe Mike and John would put on some mittens, a scarf or a sweater or jacket with those temps?

Like George, I had my AC's cranked up to max and it made it only "livable".

More Maine temps tomorrow with 70's and low humidity.

7:55pm in Texas and it is still 97 degrees with a feels like temperature of 104.

At this rate I should be able to go outside around 11:00pm.

First round is on me.

I still owe Tom a round from the Texas show, I owe George countless rounds for a million different reasons and I will gladly buy some beers for my fellow Texans, John and Mike!

Right back at ya Jason! I'll be at the bar, see you there mate. I'll also be stopping by San Fran for a number of days so perhaps we can catch up there as well.

That would be great! Please keep me posted on your travel plans.

Best,

Shavano Park? Bunch of Highrollers live out there!

We had a cold front come in. Temps will be in the low 90's. Its actually nice, compared to yesterdays searing heat...but I love it!

John from Texas

PS May be in San Fran again this year I don't know. Love Chinatown and the food is delish. There is a Korean joint in Japan town that we need to hook it up at. Yakinikyu.

John:

I am enjoying the cooler weather, strange how 92 is so much more bearable than 99!

The food in San Francisco is great. Please do let me know if/when you are in town and if I am around we definitely need to meet up for lunch/dinner.
