I hate the new forum format (1 Viewer)

Specialist in the Army was-is a rank paygrade equal to an NCO without the stripes,,I was a Sgt e-5 ,,As per my demotion here,,returning from the kings wars I became a Specialist five due to my position and new posting,,it seems rather weak to see here,As to the change in things ,as always most change never seems for the better,,A vote may have been better but not in a military command as we have here,,what a minute,,,,

and as always when others make decisions it all flows down hill,
 
Looks ok to me - a bit different; but the same **nctionality seems to be here. I'm guessing this is one of those changes that was done for "technical" reasons?

My only suggestion is that I would really like the threads to start with the OLDEST at the top - so I don't have to scroll down to find the beginning. Most of the other boards I read do it this way.

Other than that, Peter, very well done.

If you look at the title for each thread you will see a blue circle with 2 arrows. Click that and it will take you to the first new post since you last looked at that thread. That way you don't have to scroll all the way down. Also when looking at the thread it will show who the last poster is with a blue arrow at the side click that and it will take you to the last post of that thread.

May I suggest gentle peeps that you use your mouse and hover over the symbols that you will see on the forum. When applicable it will show you what the symbols will do which could be helpful in navigating and using the forum to it's highest potential. Any problems feel free to contact a mod :)
 
I see one of the CHANGES,,when I try to figure out whats been done to my profile page is the removal of two of my albums,,is that part of the demotion or?

Excellent advice! As we say, "Read your screen". Well, sometimes there's an adjective in front of "screen", but this is a family forum... ;)

I'm finding it becoming as familiar as the old version was.

I went to your profile page and saw your two albums.
 
Sometimes it just take awhile to get used to the new navigation, **nctionality, colors, etc. When Microsoft upgraded to the new version of Word, etc. I hated it. They completely changed the User Interface (e.g. tool bars, etc.. ). Now that I've gotten used to it - I love it and wouldn't want to go back.. Also - as software applications change - the users are almost forced, at some point, to upgrade.. Eventually, if you don't upgrade software the older versions won't be supported.. Also, I'm sure there are a lot of great new features, not only for us, but for Peter and crew.. maybe better security, etc.

I think it'll be fine and dandy, dandy and fine. :)

I think we are free to judge and I never mind the alternative. There is no doubt that different is sometimes disliked for its own sake and I am sure the little quirks of having things in the wrong places will sort out. You have to love these IT developers. Only they could take something simple and make it complicated, dignified and make it silly or pleasant looking and make it ugly.:rolleyes:
 
I have no real problems with the upgrades, but I work in a field were this type of thing is basically in a constant state of change and I've become accustom to constant change and adaption. I would suggest that everybody better get used to it (change) technology is moving faster and faster and change will happen at the same rate... you can't stop it peroid!
I do like the ability to load multiple pics at 1 time.

That is quite correct. Nothing stands still whether we like it or not and instead of fighting it, just embrace it or, failing that, get used to it :D Nothing ever stays the same.
 
I don't care for the change either but I feel bad about it as I know Peter and Shannon put a lot of time,work and money into it.

I have modified my former stand and I no longer hate the new style. I am adjusting (something this dinosaur is not good at) and I believe I will survive. However, I still can't find the emoticons.... -- Al
 
It is better now than it was this am, but is still slow to load. I will adjust
