I Have joined the First Legion (1 Viewer)

Here is the promised support! Heavy metal! I had no intention of picking it up but when i walked into the shop and he said I have something you might like. After picking it up and see the paint and weathering thought it was the best armor i had seen! You really have to see these beasts in person to appreciate them. The type of material they use to make them allows better detail. Also, i think they have some photo etched parts. Really like the opening and closing hatches and full figure. Highly recommended! Brad,
When you said added support I was not expecting that! HAHA!!! It looks great my friend. I have not been able to see any of First Legions AFVs in person and I would love to be able to pick one up to feel the weight difference compared to other companies. I think I would like the lighter weight stuff much more. Again, wonderful addition and glad to see you are excitied with FL!

P.S. By those photos I would guess you live close to Gettysburg? Looks to be the battlefield.

Yep, exactly. I live about 35 Miles away. Have been going down there many many many years and saw it change soooo much (for the good!). I saw the artillery piece. I almost pulled the trigger. But the PZ 3 blew me away!

Brad if I lived that close to Gettysburg I would be in HEAVEN! I would be there every weekend that's for sure. At least I will get to see it again this year when I make the long hall up from North Carolina. :)

Awesome piece you have there! I was totally anticipating that you were gonna get the German MG team. Boy was I wrong{eek3} My airborne guys don't have a chance against armor. They better stand down^&grin

Congrats on the new Panzer Brad, I have both the winter and grey version and you can't go wrong with either, also agree with you on detailing of the tank, abslolutely spot on, you will always catch something new here or there when looking at it later, congrats again on your purchase...Sammy

Thanks Guys. I actually had the intention of buying the MG team. But when I picked it up and saw photo etched parts and the detail and weathering. It was incredible. It was the first tank he had gotten in from FL. And it lasted less than a week! :) I also like the figure. Awesome. I know i won't pick up too many of the tanks. But it makes me appreciate it even more.

I see a tank rider on the way :)

Cameron. If you like in NC. Did you ever visit Bentonville or Staunton River state battefield in Southern Virginia. Part of the Wilson Kautz raid. Really nice park.

And the pictures don't do the PZ 3 justice. You have to see it in person. Just like their Civil War stuff. (really like the fake grass effect)

Do you own any of the ACW figures from First Legion? They are my main focus now in toy soldier collecting. Like you said...they are amazing to look at!

Not Yet... Key word is Yet :) If they come out with Bucktails. I will be onboard!

Brad,
Sorry I just saw this reply. Anyway, yes I have been to both of those. I did a large trip of the Outer Banks last year and went to all of the civil war sites stopping by Bentonville on the way. I have been to most of the battlefield in Virginia and just got back from another trip up to Fredericksburg not too long ago. I go on maybe two large trips like that a year to civil war sites. The best way to Gettysburg is by taking I-81 through the Shenandoah Valley. I went that way the last time I was in Gettysburg instead of going up I-95. I stopped in Lexington VA to see Lee's and Jackson's graves. Such a beautiful place and country!

Agree with you. It is beautiful country. I am heading down In May for the 150th Anniversary of Chancellorsville. Excited about it.

PZ III has requested support Although. I think more is needed :) View attachment 120701

That's one helluva door panel dio you got going there...I like it {bravo}}{bravo}}{bravo}}. It's up there with your Dashboard delight form last time , and proof that First Legions products look GREAT no matter where you photograph them ^&grin. Great to see another happy FL collector :salute::keep em coming . Regards Gebhard

Brad, I have always said that this FL PanzerIII is quite likely the best 1:30 scale tank ever made bar none....The detail, paint and weathering is simply amazing....I only wish that it was available in another turret number....I would be purchasing another one without doubt.....I also totally agree with you that the material allows a better product.....Polystone simply is not the best material any longer....Both FL Panzers and Figarti tanks and planes are onthe right track in that regard....Best Vezzolf

Thanks Gebhard. My car has turned into a regular photo lab :)

Vezzholf. I agree 100% with you. I saw the PZ 3 of another company and you can't get the detail (tracks for example, or cupola slits) with polystone. It is true polystone is heavier. But for me. If i had my choice between weight and detail. I will take detail anyday! (I also like the fact that you can open and close the hatches.)

As far as the figures go. I just have one thing to say. Superb!

And I have to admit, none of the photographs really do justice. It is when you see them in person that the detail really stands out.

Not very fond of polystone either, much prefer either metal/diecast or plastic like materials. Don't know about FL but really enjoy Dragon, Corgi or Minichamps.
