I Think There Should Be Restrictions For Posting Here! (1 Viewer)

I don't believe they know better. I think that as hosts they are gracious enough to even provide a section for selling and buying and as such we should all be grateful. I think a +/- feature would just make more work for the moderators as people would be complaining that such and such gave and unfair review or so and so said this. Personally it is not a road I wish to go down as the forum in general creates more than enough work. I am also sure there would also be legal implications which could be another reason that Shannon & Peter don't want something like this in place.
Well other sites appear to survive so I would say it is question of opinion. Anyway, it is what it is and that is OK with me.

If anything the person should be limited to a probation period, say 6 months before being allowed to sell something. The rank won't work, I have been here since the beginning and read more than I post.

Yes rank is irrelevant, as is the time here for that matter. Status quo seems to work OK as a second best solution.

You only have it for positive comments, that avoids the legal implications. I agree that no system is perfect, but if I was looking to make a deal with another forum member and I knew they had had several other positive dealings, it would make me more confident to go ahead.

Just something to think about. If it were tried and didn't work or help it could always be discontinued. Right?

Makes no difference to me. If I am going to deal with someone unknown I would either ask for a reference or post an "anyone deal with X, PM me please? post.
