I think the closest I can get to it is this gun from the Trophy Indian Mutiny series, minus the elephant of course^&grin

Hopefully it could turn out to be a very interesting and informative thread {bravo}} I've had a quick look through and there are quite a few boat related pictures:wink2:

It would be great if you and others would join in with contributions, there must be loadsa pictures in the ILN's competition THE GRAPHIC and the only volume of this great magazine I have is Jan-June 1881, a year or so before the Sudanese trouble really kicked off
