So here are some more ideas for Arnhem/Market Garden!
How about some 1/30th scale buildings like the ones from A Bidge Too Far which I am watching on Sky Modern Movies as I type!
The John Gittens ones are great, but they have been made to look blown up, what if we got some that were still in tact, except were modelled with bullet holes and maybe crumbling here and there, like the old Berlin Tenement building! That was a beauty!
We've had General Gavin, we've had General Urquhart, we've even had Sosabowski, do how about General Maxwell Talor and Joe Vandeleur? And a new model of Brian Horrocks, except Horrocks could be made as before with map and pointing stick, but a set could be made out of it with Horrocks standing with map, but there could be 3 men sitting in chairs infront of him, maybe a 1st Airborne Officer, an Irish Guards Officer, and American Airborne Officer?
Then maybe as add on sets we could have another two seated figures, one an RAF Officer, and another Armour Officer?
Then to top it off: Another add on set with two MP's standing at attention, or one standing and one sitting?
It hasn't even got to that part of the movie yet, but what about some Polish paras in boats attempting to cross the Rhine, but Andy could try and include two small trees maybe a string which can attatch to both trees, with a para standing beside one tree on the look out, and 2 boats which have Polish paras, maybe in one boat one para pulls on the cable (string) while a kneeling para watches the far bank of the river cautiously, and a final para in the boat who has been wounded in past fighting and is lying slumped against the side of the boat.The other boat could already have been seen by the Germans, and has a para who has just been shot with one arm in the air and the other off to the side, and another para firing sten gun toward the far side of the river bank, and a final para lying slumped over the side of the boat dead?The boat could could be decorated with bullet holes, and one side could be modelled lower than the other to give the impression that the boat has burst!
Will supply some more when the movie has carried on a bit!
