Hi, I posted this in another section, but thought might get a better answer here!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, quick question for the Imperial collectors. I have 2 sets 52 Mahdist Infranty drums/flags sets BUT they are in different type boxes, is this normal? ONe is in a solid background color maroon box, the other is in the Pattern box (stars). Both have all the regular id labels. Just out of curiosity, were they put out at random or is one older than the other?

The solid maroon boxes were the first ones produced and are earlier than the boxes with the star pattern. At some point in the late 80's, early 90's, Imperial changed their boxes and, yes, I have seen both box designs on the same number set.

Cheers,
Drum

Drum's right. I have a solid box of that set and got that one around 1995. It was one of my first sets of Imperial. It is a fantastic set. Pick up the mounted flag bearer if you ever find it too. He is a great figure also.

Thanks fellas! I kind of figured it, but wasn't sure. By the way, does anyone need one of these sets?

Tom
