TB227 Yeoman Warders of the Tower of London.

Set of 2 figures painted £30

Single casting £5.50

Come with a choice of Axe, Tower Emblem or Pike.

Painted photos when I get a chance to paint them...

I visited Derek Cross's Son Adam yesterday and picked up a lot of display pieces and a lot of photographs of sets. This means I can now start updating the website to list a lot more sets.

The first of these, TB1 - Home Service Band is now up on the site.

TB1.jpg

This uses the new website setup where you pick the finish you want (painted or castings) and then the subset you want - in this case TB1A-TB1D.

This will let me list some of the bigger sets that have 26 subcodes in a more compact, easier to read format.

thanks

Mike

I have been a little slow in updates to the website due to some health problems involving a couple of hospital visits for tests and a death in the close family. Getting back to it now, and I've added a couple more bands...

TB16.jpgTB17-18.jpgTB19-23.jpg

TB16 Royal Marine Light Infantry and the TB17-23 Royal Scots Greys Band and Troopers are now both on the website.

I have just completed a short interview with Toy Soldier and Model Figurine Magazine which I believe is in the Issue out in time for Christmas.

Press Release about the purchase of Dorset below. It is going to be a large amount of work to get this up and running and fit everything in the workshop/house but I am looking forward to it.

DORSET MODEL SOLDIERS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

We are pleased to announce that as of 15[SUP]th[/SUP] November 2019 Imperial Miniatures are the new owners of Dorset Model Soldiers, the well known supplier of Toy Soldier Spares and model soldiers based in Portland, Dorset.

We have bought the company from Andy Gibbs, who bought Dorset from the original owner Giles Brown in 2016.

Andy is currently completing any outstanding orders he has, and we are arranging to collect the moulds, masters, stock etc. from the Portland workshop around the end of November. New orders can continue to be placed through the Dorset Models website, by phone or post (please note that cheques should be payable to Imperial Miniatures).

We hope to have the business back up and running and processing orders shortly after the London Toy Soldier show on December 7[SUP]th[/SUP] and provide the same level of service that Giles made Dorset renowned for.

Please note the new address and phone number:

Dorset Model Soldiers , Nyetimber, Norfolk Farm Road, Woking, Surrey GU22 8LF, England

Tel: 01483 855757 (Cheques payable to Imperial Miniatures).

Dorset will continue to be run as a separate website and business from Imperial.

We drove a 3.5 ton Luton van down to Portland and back yesterday to pick up the Dorset Model Soldiers moulds, stock, etc.

4 hours to pack the van with 5 of us and we still didn't manage to fit everything in! Hopefully going back in a couple of weeks with a smaller van to pick up the master castings, master paint samples and bits and pieces of moulds and stock we didn't manage to fit in the first time.

It is going to take me a couple of weeks to sort everything and find where to put everything; but I hope to start casting for orders the middle of the week beginning 9th December...

Hi Mike I shall be contacting you about February about your metal boat accessories

I have updated the Dorset Model Soldiers Website with the latest casting list dated November 2019 as the one previously listed was several years out of date and missing a lot of the later items...

Returned to Portland, Dorset today with a smaller van and my wife, Sarah, along as a helper. We met up with Giles Brown, the original owner of Dorset Soldiers and I had a good chat with him and managed to pick up some useful documentation and a load of photographs which I am hoping will let me eventually update the website.

Went to the unit and picked up the rest of the moulds, stock, painted masters, masters, printed sheets, drop moulds and various other bits and pieces. Filling the van we had taken - but hopefully we now have everything bar the few bits and pieces I need from Andy Gibbs.

I now need to sort through everything we brought back but I hope to be in a position to handle most orders without problems in the New Year...

Couple of updates...

Things maybe a litle slow for a week or so as I managed to get a bramble in the eye ast Sunday while gardening. Itis slowly healing but limiting what I can do - 2nd visit to eye clinic today.

Secondly, I have acquired all of John Stainforth's (jonnybach) works in progress from his daughter Claire -these are stripped and repaired Britains, spare arms, etc, etc. I need to sort them but will be selling various items that I don't keep to repair myself (or melt down) if anyone is interested in finishing something Johnybach started.

My eye is recovering after the bramble incident (helped by 5 visits to the eye clinic) and I was able to do some casting and painting last week and get some orders out.

I am slightly behind on painted orders and hope to get a couple more finished this week.

I will still be a little slow as the eye isn't 100% yet and I am finding I am getting eyestrain and headaches if I concentrate on a screen or paint brush for too long...

Not posted for a while as have been very busy - work has picked up with everyone staying at home and mending figures!

This is the latest painting commission for a customer:

A KOSB Pipe and Drum Band from Dorset figures...

There are quite a few new releases for Dorset that I haven't had time to sort and photograph but I am hoping to release a number of them next month...

Dear Collectors,

Here are some Austro-Hungary infantry figures which I recently painted. They are Dorset castings provided by Imperial Miniatures. They are in the 1868 field dress which was in use until 1908, when it was replaced by the hechtgrau uniform. Hope you like them!

Closed for August 2020

I have decided to close the Imperial Miniatures and Dorset Model Soldiers websites to new orders for August 2020. This is to give me chance to catch up on some things and to finally get Dorset properly sorted which has proved impossible while continuing to process orders.

I am planning to:

- Sort all Dorset stock into new storage
- Finish recreating missing documentation which will let me file away stock efficiently
- Re-sort the painted samples which are in a random order
- Hopefully work out some of the missing moulds and codes that I haven’t been able to cast
- Work on a new website for Dorset and Imperial

And hopefully get away for a week or so on holiday!

The plan is to reopen at the in September with a new website.

If you place orders (especially for painted items) towards the end of July they are likely to be completed during September.

While I will endeavour to complete orders placed between now and August 1st some will be delayed until I reopen.

Closed Until September 2020

Due to (an inevitable) rush of orders in the last week, I have decided to close a week early to new orders so I can process the current ones before August.

Medical team and First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY) 1905...

Seeing the FANY and wounded trooper reminded me that I had bought a few of the 'gals' at the London Toy Soldier Show in 2017 while on holidays in the UK.

I have now found them, one is your set of 2 figures, another is standing on a tin base (Stadden, Lasset ???) and an marching Asset casting.
Now I think I'll strip the bad paint job of the first 2 and assemble the casting, then show you my work soon.

John
