Hi folks,
In honor of our new (or returned) subforum home, I thought I would post some pics of these masterpieces of art in high gloss. That this will also satisfy the recent request from my friend Dan Kelly to send him pics of the following sets is mere icing on the cake. Do not think me dismissive of the other period ranges, but the Naps are all Dan is "in" to (so far)

Also, my apologies for a few of these pictures as they were among the first I took (we started with the most recent sets) and we were in the early stages of our lighting efforts.

Without further ado or hand-wringing;

Set 138 (box 1) Line Infantry (Head of Column), 1st Empire

Set 138 (box 2)

Set 111 Gendarmerie Imperiale, 1st Empire
(It's hard to capture a good image of these guys head on... but I like how their incredibly expressive faces seem to be peaking around their rifles at the viewer. or maybe I am just a loon:cool:)

Set 124 Fusiliers- Chasseurs of the Guard, 1st Empire

Set 125 Seamen of the Guard, 1st Empire

Set 143 Cuirassiers, 1st Empire

and finally,
Set 144 Carabiniers, 1st Empire (looking much the way they will look after you first open the box and remove that top layer of foam... breath deep... you can smell New Zealand!)

Alrighty... more later. Dan, I hope these have satisfied your request.
:)

Thanks again for reviving this subforum and let's see your Imperial pics.

Cheers,
D.

The Carabiniers are beautiful. That's one Napoleonic set I never got around to buying. Too bad Imperial Naps never show up on ebay. London Bridge just had a shipment in from Imperial but it was small and I had all of the sets. I think they sold out pretty quick. Ron did say the next new set might be French Hussars. Let's hope.

Great shots again Drum ,your holding out on me for some civil war shots :)
As for The smell of New Zealand , Imperial is located in prime farming
country [winerys also ]so I wouldn breath to deep:eek:

Drum,

Thanks so much for posting those. They look great. I think I now know what all the Naps sets look like. The rest I either have or had pictures from Imperial catalogs (thanks Rob) or from elsewhere on the web, including this forum.

If you ever get around to it, I wouldn't mind seeing a color shot of an early set, Set 14.

Dan

Drum,

I don't know if the descriptions got flipped, but I assume the Seamen of the Guard, set 125, is the guys all in blue with the tall red plumes? Also, I would love to see a close up of set 144 if you have one. That looks fantastic.

Dan

Yeah... I don't know how I did that. I even previewed that post before I submitted it so as to make sure that had not happened.

Doh!

Anyway, as you anticipated, 124 and 125 are switched. Maybe a mod can swap those for me?

A close-up of Set 144 is no problem. I will be back.

D.

Here you go, Dan.

This shot was meant to show both sides of the figure. I hope it serves.

D.

Drum,

Can you post a picture of set 14 when you get a chance. Thanks.

Dan

Sorry for the delay, Dan.

It's been a busy couple of weeks.

Here is a pic of set #14. The 65th Regiment of Foot.

This one was a special set made for a NZ-based department store chain called "Kirkealdie and Stains, Ltd.". The box has a commemorative sticker and special photo insert similar to those used in the earliest sets from Imperial.

Cheers,
D.

A very modest contribution for this thread, I am really embarrassed by this poor photos compared with the previous ones, but well, here it goes. 93rd Highlanders are from Monarch Regalia.

Rob or Drum,

Can you post a picture of set 90, Royal Horse Artillery? Thanks.

Dan

Dan ,sorry I dont have that set ,I only have #83 royal horse artillery.
cheers Rob

Here is set #90 The Royal Artillery, 1854;

90_Royal_Artillery_1_1.JPG

The gun is an 18 pounder and depicts the heavy guns used by Lord Raglan to rout the Russians back to Sevastapol in the early days of the Crimean Campaign.

Alas, there were no horses available at the time so these guns were reputedly man-hauled by 150 troops with ropes and sheer force to where they were deployed against the massed Russians and their fortifications.

Cheers and sorry to be so scarce lately.
Spring has sprung here in the eastern part of the U.S.

:)

I thought you all might be interested in seeing some photos of my newly finished Imperial collection. The first shot is of my toy solider cabinet and the next fews shots are some pictures of the shelves.

For the cabinet picture, the top shelf is my five sets of Imperial Bengal Lancers - 50-50d. The second shelf is my Imperial Crimean collection (still adding a few to that). The third-sixth shelves are my Imperial Napoleonics sets (I have all of them made so far - Imperial has more in the works for us, which is great news). The seventh shelf is some early Imperial sets and my Imperial Sudan collection. The bottom shelf is some of my favorite sets from King & Country's Afrika Korps series.
