Where can I get a copy of magazine with Mike's article on Imperial Production? Is it available in the US?

It's in Toy Solder Magazine and it's well worth becoming a subscriber. You can subscribe at www.toy-soldier.com or by calling 507 634 3143. One year is $110.

Yes , no , maybe, I am so confused:confused::confused::confused:

Just use the link Brad posted below. I got the magazine within a week. It shipped from MN.

Here is the price list David Cowe sent me in mid-July. All prices are in NZ dollars. I requested some of these sets and he told me he would let me know when they are ready. Makes me think they don't have a ton of inventory on hand, but that they will produce what you request off this list. I should be getting my Camel Corps soon. They had one left of that set. Their stuff is fantastic looking.

From a list I received from David Cowe of Imperial, I do think they will continue to make some sets from the Crimean and Sudan campaigns. That said, the focus seems to be on doing sets for the Napoleonic range.

I have been in e-mail contact with David Cowe over the last several months, so I am sure that he is discontinuing the lines I said he was in my article. I also received the price list refered to from David, but I believe that it represents the last items from those discontinued lines (i.e., Crimea and Sudan). In his March 26th e-mail he said, "We have decided to reopen our small shop and supply the smaller New Zealand market. We believe we can cope with this. Emphasis will be on our Town & Around Series and Napoleonic range."

The Crimean War range had at least 47 sets and the price list now shows only 20 available. There are only seven sets of the earlier Egypt/Sudan range on his price list from the several dozen originally produced. However, you will note that he has added three Egypt/Sudan sets Nos. 141, 142, and 145 while the majority of the range, which started with set No. 46, was numbered in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. This just goes to show you that David might add a set or two to any of the discontinued ranges. I just would not count on him producing any of the earlier sets in the discontinued ranges again.

Hi Guys,

I am finally home from a very long road trip. We saw just about every relative that we could and put 7500+ miles on the van going from coast to coast. Glad to be home with my stuff for sure. But the real reason I am posting is I because of the very nice surprise I found in my mail.:) No not a bill I missed :eek:it was a letter from NZ with some great color hand outs and a complete price list for Imperial so I expect I owe our fine friend Vandilay another beer or at very least a hearty thank you. Made the last 2000 miles worth the aggrevation.

I will be very happy to see if I can scan them and get them posted because the photos are quite good.

Thanks again for the much appreciated piece of mail.

All the best

Dave

Sounds cool. Hope you can post that stuff. I just got a package today too. My wife spaced mentioning it to me until I was in bed. I came down and opened it. It was my Imperial Camel Corps set from Imperial. Straight from the man himself in New Zealand - David Cowe. Awesome. It has been several years since I have received an Imperial set and this was a real treat. I feel like I should go snap up other stuff while they're still at it.

Glad you are back Dave.:)

Hi KV,

Been a long Month and with out the high speed internet or at least an internet that I can see photos on without waiting a week has been taxing to say the least.

I'm spent so its off to bed shortly.

I'll be back tomorrow

All the best

Dave

Gidday Dave

Glad they made it through ,they where the only ones available at the time
but I believe thier is going to be one in cd format which would be great.
Some of the guys who shop at london bridge may have a heads up on this,
if I get copys of any different ones i,ll send them off.
As for the exchange rate they keep telling us our dollar is hugely overvalued
at the moment ,its retreated a little with all the stock market jitters over
the last few days but is still well above historic levels, good for us buying
from you guys but not so flash the other way round.

HI Vandilay,

I have a friend who lives on the North Island who also provided me with a great set of the card to go along with what you sent so I think I have the complete catalogue now. I will keep an eye out for the CD as that would be very good to have. Next on the agenda is to find some of their older catalogues with prices and photos.

Thanks again for sending the information you did I really appreciate it.

Have you picked up any new ones?

All the best

Dave

Hi Dave

I picked up a couple of napoleonic figures [still chipping away at that series]
soult ,murat and kneeling footguards. A couple more in the pipeline but
i,ll post a shot of those when I get them.

I have some of the very early K&C catalogs that David Cowe sent me in 1995 (they were from the early 1980's). I'm looking for any catalogs that cover the later sets - say from 1995 on. In particular, something that shows all the Napoleonic sets in color. I can make color copies of what I have and mail them if someone can do the same for me for the later sets, including the Napoleonics.

Dan,

Sorry I can't help you regarding the Imperial Napoleonics product sheets. I already had so many Frontline Figure Napoleonics that I didn't start collecting Imperial's. When I get the time, I will make up a list in numerical order starting with set No. 1 of all Imperial's ranges that have been retired for all of you who are interested.
