Linda Karch the long time bartender from the Hyatt in Schaumberg passed away peacefully in her home on March 29th after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was everyone’s favorite bartender and friend during the shows. Strong, caring and compassionate.Over time she became a friend to me and my crew, Don Pielin and others. She would often run free coffee over to us during the shows on Sunday. A few times she slipped past hotel cameras to join us for our legendary pizza parties in Don’s room. One night we pulled into the hotel parking lot around 11PM. Linda left 4 pints of beer on the bar to welcome us. Last September she and her husband stopped by to visit us at the Hyatt. We did not ever think it would be our last time together. What a great person, she will be sorely missed. She leaves behind her husband Tom and sons Justin and Lukas.
