Persuaded by greed and a scouts tale of old Indian gold to be found at the burial ground next to a hidden city the disgruntled passed over Sergeant and his cronies, deserted their post.
A weeks journey on horseback from the nearest town. Where they were supposedly guarding miners after a recent outbreak of a roving war band. The miners had moved on or died months before, but the Army had kept them there with nothing to do but count rocks.
After days of riding and doubts of the tales truth starting to be voiced, the deserters having followed the direction as best they could came to the entrance of what once had been a City of the Indians cut into the rocks and finding the burial ground simply by finding bones scattered on the surface they began to grub round looking for this treasure. Harly had they started when they were jumped upon by a band of renegade Indians.....

Excellent Steve :salute::

All the best

Martyn:)

Steve...the ground work...rocks...shrubs and long grass really make these figures pop...great job!

Gee, Steve, these poor US Calvary guys don't ever seem to catch a break. They are always getting themselves into one mess after another.
At least in this one … they didn't have Raven for supper. :redface2:

Love your imagination and setups, my friend. You work wonders with just a few figures.
This is another fun example from the "Dark mind from Guildford"

Recipe for cooking crow (raven): place in covered saucepan full of water with herbs to taste. Boil for four hours. Put contents of saucepan in bowl. Pour into rubbish bin and eat saucepan. Tastes nothing like chicken :)

Perhaps some Brown sauce would of helped or even something spicier.

Nothing like chewing on a piece of metal, with a spicy after taste ! {sm2}

Steve, isn’t that what peyote is for?

Had to look up what Peyote is. Strange how people discover all these things ! Think I'll just stick to the Cactus juice !

Aha! Stranger tales. Came across it in a Sociology lecture about the meaning of reality. A strange tale from an Red Indian Shaman called Don Juan who watched over an archeologist sampling the little weed. Interesting twist on what happens when one is under the influence. :)

Way back, a very long time ago, and I mean a very long time ago! during a miss spent youth, we tried some Mescalin which is derived from Peyote. I still to this day I remember the affects which I will be honest were ...unworldly and memorable ! I can understand why native Americans found it to be 'unreal'. Carlos Castaneda wrote some intriguing books on Don Juan and Shamans and etc.
