At one time there was talk about KC introducing a line of relatively inexpensive soldiers. Is there any news about this endeavor?
Thanks

So would I the only things that have happened since Andy mentioned this in one of his speeches at a show has been the introduction of expensive P ranges and steady price increases on a monthly basis.

Would be nice to know where they are, what they will be, what quality and, what these lower price will be?

Either way I doubt very much if they would do anything to alter people's spending on what they are producing at the moment. These sets could have been out by now so, putting out cheaper sets seems IMO not to be a priority after all it has been said, many times, that this hobby and its focus is directly aimed at people with money and adults.

That was a good point and hope springs eternal. Andy could give us a shed a light on this on the upcoming Chicago Toy Soldier Show. K&C must have something already on the works on this though I rather here it from Andy once the program commence. Base on the last West Coaster show and I quote:

" Increased costs either means increase quality to match the higher price resulting from this higher cost or reducing quality to lower the price. K&C looking at different approaches:

1. Creating separate line with higher quality and higher price point.
2. Continuing mainstream line as it is now doing.
3. To encourage younger people to start collecting, a less expensive separate line made with cheaper materials, but still have appeal to mainstream K&C
collectors. "

This was spoken about extensively at the K&C meet and greet at Sierra Toy Soldier last night.

I do not want to give away too much, but suffice to say that I am sure that this will be discussed in Chicago and beyond.

The same apples to the new collector's 'Chicago' issue. Tons of incredible new stuff is coming and it is previewed in the new issue.

Yes, we also heard about this from Andy when he visited 'down under in July.

I think he was 'testing the waters' and seeking opinion about this sort of figure.

My hope is that it does come off, especially when collectors want an army 'en masse' like a firing line of NAPOLEONIC Infantry !!!

I'm sure we will find out soon enough and what range it will be?

John:

He did tell us last night what the likely range is. Again, I will let K&C talk about this more in Chicago.

Gentlemen, thanks for the responses.
Benjamin

Benjamin:

You are welcome.

I for one I am very interested in it. My bet is that every line, i.e., World War 2, Naps etc., will eventually have an introductory line.

Paul:

I think this is a whole new intro line that will include everything from individual figures to cavalry and tanks/vehicles.

It would be great if KC made vehicles for this line. I would feel more comfortable reprinting them.

Benjamin:

Great point. I also know some collectors who also want to have something less expensive in order to weather and detail them with battle damage etc. The intro line will be perfect for that too.

a hypothesis would be to release cheaper multiple sets of marching, firing, line figures as it does JJD. For those who wish the army 'en masse' would be an excellent opportunity.

Another idea, casualties!!!!!!,you only need to have details for 1 side (also painting at 1 side) , so i think it can be cheaper to produce them.

Hey guys, talked to Andy in the king and country room Saturday. He wouldn't give out any details, but he did say that this new line of figures will happen.Wish I had more details, but that's all the information he would give. Jason

I tend to think that the intro line pieces will be very usefull for that sort of thing.
