Ironclad civil war ships that will help make an interesting platform for ACW naval dioramas. ideal for people who have the room to display them, room which i unfortunately no longer have... my wife says... so they have to go ! i do not want much for them, i will be happy knowing they are giving someone somewhere as much pleasure owning them as they have given me, instead of being chucked on the tip. there are 2 southern boats CSS.Albemarle and CSS. Tennessee. and three northern Union boats USS.Choctaw USS.Monitor and the flagship USS. Benton. i can post pictures if required and there are some pictures of some (if not all) of these ships on my treefrog albums page, but be warned these are large 1:35 scale ironclads.
kind regards steve
ps. i forgot to mention the No.10 Mortar boat too

Thankfully someone with the available space bought all of these ironclad ships which are now to be displayed in a diorama setting in a shop in Colne Lancashire. phew not only did i not have the room to store them, my bin wasnt big enough either ! . i got the happy ending though.

these are tremendously well done, I really wanted to buy them, but shipping across the pond proved not possible, I just wanted to comment again on how much I like them!

Hello Tom, i know, to be honest i really did not want to part with them, looking back i wish i had tried harder to keep them, i wont see anything like these again,... kinda makes me want to get out the building materials box again.... hum.

Steve,
tell you what, should you decide to build another one, I land in London In June of 2013 (1 year) and if you have made a spare Confederate Ironclad (any of them), my buddy Clive is happy to ship it back for me!!! Just keep me posted.
Tom

That goes double for me Steve but Union. Maybe the Monitor?

Wonderful ships. I would have been happy to have bought any of them from you!

the Monitor, i thought was a beauty... five foot long though i suppose that may have been the reason she was took so long to sell !

Steve,

I looked back at the thread yesterday and, yes, it was very well done; a bear to ship though :)

i have had a hankering (is that a word ?) for some time now to build the CSS.Texas. she was a sleek vessel with beautiful clean lines (in fact she wouldnt look out of place when compared to these modern stealth ships) CSS.Texas is a gorgeous boat and would ba an ideal ship to model as she could be kept to a reasonable size without loosing her essence, because as you may have noticed from the ships in my photo album, i tend to build on the large side ............CSS.Texas...hmmmmm:p. but then again i`m quite busy..
