Is it too much? (1 Viewer)

We have three stores here that sell KC and other toy soldier products - probably more than anywhere else in the US. When I ask what is selling the general response is "not much" or "nothing".

As a dealer. I'd like to throw in a different perspective.

Taken as a whole, sales of K&C continue to climb for Treefrog Treasures. While people used to buy one of each of all the new releases, they now often will buy only what they like from the new releases. Yet with so many new releases out there, you can skip 3/4 of what K&C releases and still find yourself with quite a collection. So while we may not sell as many of one particular new set (WWII German armor is the exception), overall K&C is doing just fine.

You need the whole perspective to tell the story. You can't focus on one or two sets.

Why don't you choose?

A nice Chardonnay from Southwestern France will do just fine.

Loosen up Petey, forget about sales for awhile and take in some of the bubbly. Sales, shmales!

So if I come trick-or-treating at your house tonight, I'd be greeted with a large glass to warm me up? I'm on my way!

TRICK-OR-TREAT!

Anyone following the "auction" on toy soldier chat for Panzer Meyer #1? I think it is a hoax or maybe they have been drinking the vino.

A little strange to say the least.

Seller never appeared, bidding got personal, and quite high......high bidder

apparently didn't win on a technicality.....and next highest bidder declared

himself the winner.......still no comment from the seller.

Kind of like Sen Kerry saying he didn't insult our troops!

Our fighting men deserve our support and respect.....and care should always

be taken when speaking about them.

It is not the first time that something strange happens on that forum.

Remember the "auction" for the WS069 (certificate #501) and the "miraculous" collection that was worthing near 15 000,00$ and went for 3 500,00$ and was sell by an "anti-toy soldiers collectors" and was followed by a private sale: where? when?

They are creating "toy soldiers legends".

Pierre.

John,

Please let's not mix politics in with what is a non-political thread.

OK remove it......silly me thinking we might be interested in comments made

affecting our troops on a toy soldier forum?

I think the whole 'auction' was flawed. Brad's Frengi credits were worth WAY more than his measly $2900!

Brad - fight for your rights.

But where can you spend those Ferengi credits Peter :)

One Kazillion was the clear winning bid imo, I can't wait to see my #1.

I just had to re-read this entire thread; I needed something to make my mind turn to pure unadulterated mush.;)

All the diverse opinions about production numbers from the amatuer MBA's and all the advice we non-manufacturers are offering about sales figures, Andy is laughing all the way to the bank.

Apparently, it's been confirmed that the Number 1 Panzer Meyer has been sold for $2,802. Paying that amount just because it's number 1 verges on insanity. If you want to tell me that someone bought a one of a kind vehicle or Horsa Glider from Louis I could possibly fathom that, but not this.

Andy may be laughing all the way to the bank as he has already been paid for all 1250 Panzer Meyers, but I wonder how amused all the dealers are that sitting on 6-8-10 or more of them unsold.

Dr. Fred, AMBA - amatuer MBA
NQPHD - not quite
BFD - figure it out yourself

I agree. I've paid a lot for some of the russian figures, including #1 prototypes but this is crazy. The really humorous thing is that he indicated that he planned to sell it - hopefully to Bill Gates or King Abdullah if he wants a profit. Still think it might be a hoax.

Doesn't everyone take Ferengi credits? I thought it was standard:

We accept:
Visa
Mastercard
American Express
Discover (Novus)
Ferengi Credits

Based on the currency conversion of the credits to US finds, I still argue that Brad has won.

Now where did he get all those credits ....

I think the person that paid a $2602 premium (if it's true) for a Panzer Meyer, even if it is no.1 (big deal), would have been better served in using that money to have his head examined!
ITSG is giving one away with a $2000 order, granted that's a big order to place at one time, but then again $2602 buys a lot of new K&C.
