Is the Me 262 a tail sitter ? (1 Viewer)

Historical licence seems to be a dirty word for some as I recently found out. I would think and Andy has just answered this that the aircraft sits well on its own so, maybe the bombs are just to add more detail.

The germans themselves could not sort out which variant they really wanted so, K&C may just be carrying on the debate. From the basic pics I have seen of this aircraft it seems accurate enough and, as we have just discussed how deceptive some of the pics can be on sets to when you see them in person but, the paint work etc looks good

Me 262....Beautiful plane:)....well done K/C....definitely a must have.

Just found this profile of the Me 262 K&C are doing & besides the missing radio aerial it look good :)

Frank,

I seriously doubt it. That's not even available on the wooden ones.

I never thought I would want to buy this plan, especially at this price, but this is such a great looking model.

Did Andy not say he would not look at doing this as the stand etc would add more cost and space needed when boxing up?? I prefer the carriage down on all these aircraft but, would like to see either no pilot or a removable one though, I lean more to the former.
Mitch

Is the landing gear retractable??

I often thought if a mfg. could make 2 wheel assemblies. In the open position and in a closed one, either of which could be held in place through a hole and post insert. If you want gear down just plug that setup in place and if you want them up, replace with the other assembly. Think CS multiple variation innovation applied to aircraft. I have done this on some wooden ones in the past and though they look OK, a real mfg. could make it a more seamless arrangement..Michael

Corgi and Hobbymaster aircraft have this feature and it is quite effective. -- Al

Hobbymaster do it on there diecast planes & they only cost £30.00

Must say that I prefer the aircraft to have their under carriages down it offers a great variation for ground diorama's with accessories and ground crew etc.

I don't know if they would necessarily be as popular should they be in flight and certainly would be more expensive should they have retractable undercarriages.

True Sir, but...the 1/32 SBD Dauntless Midway version cost me $179.00 U.S. from an online retailer which was below the list price and that was two years ago. Agreed though, beautiful kites from HM!

Tally Ho,
Marc

Agreed Ray-she is beautiful except for those lousy figures! Did you ever make it to Oregon or are you still rocking in N.M.?

Cheers,
Marc

Hi Marc,
Good to see you posting again, yes I'm still NMRocks, the housing market is brutal to non-existant here. I would've had to basically give it away with almost nothing to show for 12 yrs. of upgrading. just couldn't do it.
Probably the same in Phoenix?

Hi Marc most die-cast planes made by say Corgi , Dragon & HM even in 1/72 scale come with wheel up & wheel down option but to K&C defence it a different market & for me I would like a sliding canopy & a removable pilot for the money on the K&C Me 262 instead in flight mode

I would like to clarify. I had no allusions of a retractable landing gear for a polystone/resin airplane, but a pop out, plug in arrangement as with Collectors Showcase and their damaged track attachment. ( It does not seem to affect their price point ) When most of us were building models, we always had the parts and choice to position our landing gear. In the case of K/C , we would not use glue:eek: Michael
