Is this right, is this common? (1 Viewer)

Actually my comments were referring to the currently available FL Indians which I don't think were sculpted by John Jenkins (correct me if I'm wrong). The only JJ FL Indians I posess are set WI-01 Woodland Indians with Camp Fire, RR-04 Woodland Indian and Ranger Combat Set 1 and RR-06 Woodland Indian and Ranger Scalping Set, which I think are rather well done. Not sure if this is reflected in the other early Indian sets though.

Pete,

They sound pretty valuable according to Andrew.

He's been pretty much "spot on" in his predictions so far.

Kudos to you,

Michael

Thanks,
:)Actually I think I bought some of them from Andrew on Ebay!!
But with all the sets I buy, I buy because I like them, not for an investment.

...They came in the std Frontline green boxes with the std card ??? of 1000. There were only 150 sets made but the card in the sets will say ??? of 1000 ...

I believe I can provide a little bit more information. I first meet John Jenkins during a visit to the Frontline office in Hong Kong about 5 years ago. John had done work for K&C, and so had Gerard Prime and the late Howard Swales of Frontline, so they knew each other very well. At the time, John was examining the masters of these figures. When asked for my opinion, I remember saying that I thought the heavy outline painting of the indian's musculature was too stark and heavy. Anyway, since the figures were produced under its name, Frontlline's policy is to make only 1000 of any set, though a production run will usually be less than 200 sets. If 1000 sets are produced and sold, then Frontline will stop making that particular figure set.

... I do not know the full story behind why they were stopped. I think it was a quality issue with John and Frontline. They were made by Frontline for John. When they came out they were $20 USD per figure. So the single figures set was $20 and the 6 figure sets were $120 and so on.

I have only heard Frontline's side, and I have never asked John. According to Frontline, after the introduction of the first 10 sets, they supposedly asked John for follow-up sets and John supposedly said he did not want to do any at that time, so Frontline ended the relationship.

Here you go boys.
These are the only JJ sets I have.
I bought them when Michigan stocked them back in 2006.
Then they stopped stocking them so I did not get the Monogohela stuff.
I have the complete set but they are all packed away for the moment.
