Hi Guys,

As many of you already know I am a big fan of the Israeli Defence Forces and am particularly interested in the 1967 6 DAY WAR and the YOM KIPPUR WAR of 1973.
Some of you may also know that in 2017 we introduced our first Israeli series which included the now-retired M4 ‘ISHERMAN’.
Well to replace that in our Israeli inventory we are working on its worthy IDF successor, The Centurion ‘Shot’.
This ‘mockup’ Israeli ‘SHOT’ will be on show in Chicago next week. It’s a K&C studio adaptation and conversion from our very recent Aussie ‘Vietnam’ Centurion... Hope you like it!

All the best,
Andy

Very happy!
Not to be greedy but an Israeli M113 and Egyptian/Syrian T54/55 would really make my day!

The Centurion adaptation looks great! Thanks for the pic and have a great time at the show!

Andy mate,
What can one say but "BLOODY OUTSTANDING" cobber. I will need to check up on how many Israeli Centurions made up a Troop or Platoon in the IDF. Could not possibly have less than a Troop/Platoon in my collection. Maybe Zach can give me a heads up. I didn't think this would come out so soon but will make a great Christmas present.
I was about to have a great day with going to see the "Danger Close - Long Tan" movie for the third time but this just puts the icing on the cake. Great work.

Cheers Howard:salute::

G'day Howard,
Many thanks for liking this other Centurion too!
Look out for more pix of it later...
All the best,
Andy.

Wooohooooo!!!!

Happy indeed!

Zach,

The big question is will Andy be taking it back to Hong Kong ?

Isn't this the time to make him an offer he can't refuse ? I don't think Andy owns a horse so a horses head in his bed is probably not going to work as a negotiating technique. I do note the transaction is likely to take place in Chicago but will Andy be Untouchable and decline all offers of bribery?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to secure the Centurion. Or is it really Mission Impossible ? If you do succeed in this mission you will officially be recognised with the call sign Maverick. However if for some reason you fail you will be disavowed and your call sign will henceforth be Goose.

Good luck:salute::

PS. The clue to how to succeed could be in the thread title. Heavy metal.

Here's a conversion I did for Zach last month for his 6 day diorama...just change the camouflage color scheme, add Syrian decals and you're good to go-will also work on the 113's

No problem...its creeping up on us all.....I'm actually right around the corner from you in chicago in 4401. Looking forward to seeing your exhibits and getting inspired as I always am

I love my tank! Pat is a master!

Pat is a great talent, an asset to the hobby...……..as well as a great human being as well, very easy to talk to and discuss the hobby with.

If you have a particular display project in mind, he's the guy you'd want to discuss it with on this side of the pond, it would be David from TM Terrain on the other side of the pond...…………..

Good luck with getting info on the IDF especially the TO&E of an armoured brigade.. Mostly classified and what info is out there is somewhat speculative. Plus it's in Russian or Hebrew, And it has changed over time.

The original IDF tank unit was an 11 tank company of 3 tanks x 3 platoons + 2 HQ tanks. Over time this has shifted from five to four to three tanks per basic platoon. A Merkava Mk4 company today MAY consist of three platoons of three tanks plus one HQ tank.

The Israeli Centurions were in combat in the 1967 Six Day War and in the 1973 Yom Kippur War and most likely were five or four tank platoons - possibly five in 1967 and reduced to four by 1973??? or soon after the 1973 War

Thanks Terry mate,
My research has come up with 3 tanks per tank platoon and 3 platoons made up a tank company. The four companies made the battalion and three battalion to the armoured brigade. As you mentioned there is not much intel available compared to other Nations. I think I will go with a three K&C Israeli Centurion Tank Platoon. I have discovered that the rings around the gun barrel represent which battalion the tank belonged to and the V of the side skirts turned in four directions represents which of the four tank companies it belongs too.
Once again thanks for your heads up. Look forward to catching up in 2020 at the 40th Anniversary of the Chicago TS Show. Retirement is a great thing.

Cheers Howard
