Hi
Does anyone know of anyone doing anything related to Israel - modern, biblical, anything? Be it civilian or military. I've never seen anything but am interested in getting something with this subject matter.
Thanks in advance
Zach
sorry- also Frontline has a modern israeli soldier you can find online sometimes.
Academy's set isn't bad, but the heads were all the same and had a cartoonish quality about them (they reminded me of Popeye). Dragon's para's set is good. And you can also convert or modify other figures depending on the era and conflict. Keep in mind that Israel utilized gear and uniforms from numerous countries early on, including American and British helmets. For instance, the Airfix modern German infantry set has figures with uzis that resemble photos I've seen of soldiers during the Six-Day War. And according to a description in Kurzman's "Genesis 1948", the Special Night Squads were kitted out in a manner that would allow you to use the Airfix Australian infantry (they often wore linen pants, dark blue shirts and Aussie bush hats). Searching IDF or Israeli uniforms online will lead to tons of photos.Zach,
If you aren't adverse to a bit of assembly and painting there are a few 54mm figures about. New Hope Designs made some figures and Valiant as well.
The New Hopes still appear available from Dutkins-

(Note: I have no connection with Dutkins, just paint New Hopes)
There are plenty of 1/35th options available (Verlinden, Tamiya, Dragon, Academy).

I recall seeing a set of Israeli soldiers in 1948 from Mignot wearing khaki shorts with a flag bearer.
I was just bidding on a set of these on Ebay. Just got up over $400 and had to let it go...
