Dear Fellow Collectors:

Some good friends have been in touch the last two days so I thought I had better post that I took the very difficult decision to leave W. Britain this week. My family has had some other opportunities come along and I very reluctantly felt it was time to move on. Needless to say it has been an amazing 8 year ride with W. Britain, made all the more rewarding, fun and exciting thanks to all of you. It has indeed been an honor and pleasure to be associated with W. Britain and all the fine retailers and collectors in this amazing hobby. I hope to remain in touch with many of you through this forum or directly at richardwalker@mchsi.com (love to hear from you at my personal email). I consider you my friends and shall remain in touch.

Godspeed,

Richard

Richard, you will be missed! God's blessings on your new ventures in life.

Richard,
Sorry to hear about your decision to leave, but I fully understand when one feels it is time to move on. I am very thankful for the friendship we have made through this forum and as being a collector of Britians. I thank you very much for always helping me with the little issues I have brought to your attention. You truely are a fine person who really takes his work/products seriously so that everyone will be pleased. God Bless you on your new endeavors.

Yes, Richard, you surely will be missed.
W.Britain made such an amazing comeback after the not so good Ertl period, and a big chunk of it is owed to your excellent and committed work.

But when it's time to move on, it is time to move on, and I want to wish all the best to you and your family.

Sorry Richard I could not like your post. But that must be one heck of an opportunity. You will be sorely missed at Britains as well as the shows. I do hope we will get to see you from time to time. You have been a guiding light and the impetus of the resurgence of W. Britains. It is hard to think of you not being there. Especially right now with the wonderful and spectacular figures you have brought forth. Three cheers to you Sir! Huzzah!, Huzzah!, Huzzah!

Richard mate,
Now that is a bloody shame.:( Not only for me but for Britains and the TS Industry. On the occasions we have met and chatted both in person and by email, I have always found you to be "a top bloke".^&grin
I must thank you for your assistance in acquiring missing sets in my collection, but also blame you for my large collection of Britains Zulus, ACW and War On the Nile ranges. They would not have been in my home had it not been for you.
I wish you and your family well in your new adventure, but knowing you I know you will be a success.
I salute you.:salute::
Cheers from the Land Downunder, Howard

Dear Richard,
I am sorry to see that you are leaving Britains. You have really pumped new life into a faltering brand. Best wishes on your future endeavors!
Benjamin

Richard,
This truly is a loss for W Britain and for its customers, but I wish only the best for you in your new ventures. I will always be grateful for your kind remarks and tireless efforts on not only my behalf, but on the behalf of all the loyal Britains collectors out there. There was never a time I felt that you could not be reached out to and for that I will always be thankful. Since I began to seriously collect Britains products I have sung your praises to friends and family as you have amazed me with your dedication to the hobby and to the customers that make the hobby possible. Your stewardship will be missed, of this I have no doubt, but I wish you fair winds and following seas as you move on. When will this change be taking place? Will the new leadership attempt to reach out to us here as you have done so well?
God bless,
Josh Osborne

Hello Richard:

Don’t know what happened but the toy soldier world be less without your enthusiasm, creativity, energy, performance and most of all, your integrity. I haven’t a clue where you’re going but there getting a heck of an asset. I wish the best for your family and your career.

Heck, now what’s going to happen to Britains? They had the best, now it’s time to try the rest???? What a minute, it’s not supposed to work like that!

Carlos

Richard,
If there is anyone responsible for my entering the toy soldier world, it is you. Your leadership has not only transformed Britains, but it has made it possible for many younger people to enter the hobby.
Your kindness and generosity has really touched me, and the opportunities you gave me have contributed significantly to my collecting and my personal development.
I will never forget what you have done, and I would love to see you at a toy soldier show in the future.
Many, any thanks,
Sandor Farkas

When I think Britain's I think your name Richard, so it's going to take awhile to break the association. All the very best in the next chapter of your life, stay in touch. Robin.:salute::

What a SAD bit of news for all of us who have collected WB down the years and who admire everything Richard has done for our hobby. Without any doubt, he has set the standard for professionalism, courtesy and customer consideration in the TS industry.
Only recently, privately and without any fuss, he went to all kinds of lengths to solve a small problem I had with a WB set. Richard, may I add my personal thanks and best wishes to those already posted by so many colleagues and wish you every success and happiness in the future. Very best wishes from Ireland. Colman

I am SHOCKED!!! The Toy Soldier world will not be the same again... Best of luck for the future, Richard... :salute::

This a sad day for Britains collectors, for sure...

Richard: That is great news that you are moving on to a new career. Congratulations and continued success. I have always contended that WB is the gold standard when it comes to depicting the ACW. Other makers do a good job yet sometimes utilize Larry Storch to be their historical consultant. I have never felt that way in assessing your products. Whoever replaces you will have huge shoes to fill. How do you combine a class act, marketing genius, genuine passion, hard work and just being a nice person to a fantastic line of historical military miniatures? Might not happen over night. You left an indelible stamp on a superb line and have earned a sterling reputation as a great provider to a terrific hobby. You brought a lot of joy to many.

I can't say anything better than what the guys already said.Best wishes and future success.
Mark

Hate to see you go. Thanks for resurrecting Britain's from the Ertle dark ages. I hope the new guy continues what you started. Good luck. Please tell us that you aren't taking Ken !
