unless your a keen skier, I think youd be straight back on the first plane home, defrosting all the way :) .

Vandilay, although I'm not a skier, I do prefer cool, even cold weather to the hot and humid stuff, you can always put on another layer of clothing, there's only so much you can take off before you get arrested!

Hot weather doesn't worry me much because I grew up in Western New South Wales where it was perfectly normal for tar to melt on the roads in summer. However I hate cold weather and people that actually bother to travel to some place to ski or skate have my sympathy, but apparently some even enjoy the experience :) Now I live on the coast in southwest Queensland where the temperature rarely exceeds 32 C in Summer and anything below 10 C in Winter is an extremely cold night and something to talk about. Btw I was talking to people from Canada recently and they say their temperature ranges from - 40 C to + 40 C, now that's just weird

Its so hot down here my King & Country Afrika Korps figures moved into my winter diorama. :p

Try fighting fires in this weather................. Had 2 fires and a building struck by lightning on my last incursion into the getto....With the gear on and the humidity!........WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....Firebat

102 in Germantown, TN yesterday little cooler today. I was talking with my friend in the UK. Most homes there don't have AC. He said they are having a heat wave it is 80 in his back yard. I told him to get used to it.

It was 118 here in Metro Phoenix(dry heat & no humidity)...a record breaker! I'm outta here for the next 3 days. Heading to Sedona and Flagstaff where it's cooler (I'll pass by Prescott to see KC dealer along the way)

I live in Florida and noticed that most of the other states are hotter. Usually we are warmer down here, I feel sorry for you all who are not used to the heat.

Try going out on your yacht to stay cool. Might have been seen cruising around Minnesota-ya. Leadmen

Do you live in the UK if so where? My friend lives in Crowborough, E. Sussex he is a model railroader and often writes for Modeller Railroader. I wish could get back to the UK for another 2 month hobby shop tour.

Chuck, what a small world !! you know someone who lives in my home town. Whats your friend's name? Is he a member of the local model railway club? Years ago when I was into wargaming the club I belonged to used to have a display at the yearly model railway exhibition.
If you are ever over here again visiting your friend it would be great to meet you.
Meanwhile we are in a heatwave again (for us anyway), late 80's and humid.
Best regards
Jeff
