Iwo jima sherman (1 Viewer)

Hi Martyn,

Depends on condition/completeness. They are just hard to find, not a pretty tank thats for sure! In all seriousness, they are traded so little b/c of rarity, it would be interesting to see what it would bring on ebay. That is the allure of old K&C stuff, some models are crude (old half, jimmy, landing craft and ambulance), but they are quite rare. Crude is in the eyes of the beholder, I personally love the original landing craft, it is a beast and beefy. I also love the amubulance.

A lot of collectors are completists (like me), so it is a neat display unto itself when you have the "evolution" of a model throughout the K&C timeline.

Lucky for me I had the old winter sherman, I believe only 10 made.
As Tom stated it was, crude, it was the same as the Iwo sherman, but obviously a different paint scheme. I got $850 from a guy in France for it.
The figure 30 some how sticks out as the number made on the Iwo version.
So I would guess it would fetch at least $500.

Gary: didn't realize they would go that high, but like everything else, it is rising. I wish they would ave done a flame-throwing version--perhaps someone else will do it down th road?..................Stryker

A bit off topic, but do you know that the Sherman produced in plastic by BMC was just a recast from the K&C Iwo Sherman. Not a great model as Shermans go, but painted decently it could "stand in" for a display until you found the pollystone version.

Thank you for the pictures, that is the same as my set, here is the medal

Hello Martyn,

That is an awesome looking Sherman, a collector's item I dare say.

I never expected you to land on the lava sands of Iwo Jima.;)

Watch out for the Japanese 26th Tank Regiment !!

Cheers, Raymond.:)

Is this an extra you are showing, or your personal one for your collection?.....Stryker

Hi Stryker just images of sales of the piece I have recorded. I never picked

this particular piece up myself. I only have a few items from this Series.

I am mainly into Arnhem, Vietnam, and other early items in matt.

Njja,
Do you remember how much the broken one went for this year? It had a "battle damage" (Hole in the side).

Thanks Matt, that is a nice piece. For pure realism though it shoul have USMC in yellow lettering in the rear side plates--but that is being picky. Sometimes front-line units would paint over this, but hav photos of Marine shermans with the lettering..................Stryker
