48 Hours tonight. I'm a bit surprised in the amount of media interest in the 50th anniversary of the assassination.

We have the 50th Anniversary here in Aust too at the moment....for nothing better to do I watched the life of JFK when he was the president.....I had an idea he had back pain and took drugs and was a bit of a lad with the women. The doco went into more details....I have lost track of the theories of who shot JFK...everyone agrees he was shot...that is a good start....here is a list of shooters I have heard mentioned over the years...from books...doco's and the general bloke in the street who is not that interested but will venture an opinion....My list.....Egar J Hoover and the FBI,,,the CIA...the Cubans...the Russians...jealous boyfriends....the Mafia....the Secret Service....someone frightened he may start WW3... and Bugs Bunny who was rumored to have heard the Govt was going to ban carrots..and ofcourse the man who could not defend himself Oswald ..... not discounting the Secret Agent "Friendly Fire"..its seems the Secret Service left JFK an easy target in his limo...Have I missed anyone?......with so much written..filmed...discussed,there is no wonder the media is so interested....JFK is a good story,,,it saves the journo's getting of their collective backside's and doing their jobs....I would bet that if the real facts and the guilty bastard is ever revealed,no-one will believe it...and it start off another stamped of "It could not be true...Because..etc etc ....my opinion....I would truely like to know the real story...an impossible dream ?...I think so......regards TomB

There is also the theory that Oswald wasn't gunning for Kennedy, but was after Connolly because of some perceived slight by Connolly when Oswald requested help (possibly regarding his DD from the service, but I don't know for sure). It will never stop. -- Al

The real murderer was arrested within two hours of the crime. I don't think anyone would have any question about it if the victim were anyone other than JFK. The case isn't that complex, but the theories will be around forever. I do feel sorry for some of the people involved like Ruth Paine and Buell Frazier who tried to help Oswald and his family and got caught up in the whole mess.

I agree...If it had not been JFK it would not have raised a ripple in a pond....I was watching my favorite anti politician show earlier tonite...the subject was brought up and they just said it was too confusing to discuss.....I think I will just toss a coin and forget about it....that will save me getting ulcers......thanks you for all your input, has been very informative...regards TomB
