JJ Collectors Club (1 Viewer)

Does this mean there will be three more Clubs sets announced this year or does this include the ones we already know about (e.g. Dunbar)?

"There will be 2 more special Club sets available before August

There will be 1 more 19th Century Special Club set available in October/November."

Well, to quote the Sierra JJ newsletter 'John is adding 2 more special Club sets, expected to be available before August, 2010. However there will be 1 more 19th Century Special Club set available in October/November'. So I imagine three different sets than already announced. So three more new sets in total this year!

A little confusing isn't it?The 2 special club sets are they for 2009 or 2010?The Oct./Nov special 19th cen.figure,is that the only set for 2010?Like I said CONFUSING.

Hi Mark,
The newsletter also states "....there will be 1 more 19th Century Special Club set available in October/November. To obtain this you will need to renew your membership by purchasing the Club-Figure 2010". So I'm supposing that the only special set you need to be a 2010 member for is this one. Not sure if that is the only 2010 special club set or not, but if you don't collect 19th century, and it is, then I don't see much point in buying the 2010 figure. But I do, and I will!

I don't collect the 19th cen. but I will get it all the same because you don't know if something else will be offered or not.

I guess we just buy them all and let it sort itself out. Just hard to figure how John works in three more club sets this year given the preorder and production schedule.

I have a question. In post # 30 there is a painting called "The Reunion" by Robert Griffing. In it Francis Halkett recovers the remains of his father and brother.By this time Halkett is a Major in the 42nd (The Black Watch). My question is,is this the way a Black Watch officer would be uniformed?Griffing does his research well so I assume it is but I was just double checking. Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer this.

I see the collectors club #4 production number is 381.

So far the numbers produced have been:
#1 376
#2 431
#3 456
#4 381

#1 376...Halkett & Son...$68.00
#2 431...Scarouyady...$35.00
#3 456...Dunbar...$34.00
#4 381...Durantaye & Richelieu...$68.00

it looks like the single sets (more affordable)...tend to sell better...

I'm kind of surprised that Dunbar outsold Scarouyady...

Scarouyaday is really versatile...more so than any of the other releases...he can be used in almost all of the FIW series...

I also think he is the best pose and best set...personal opinion...

but I guess with the "Return to Monongahela" (new 44th Line sets)...the Dunbar set could be real popular...

this pre-order format John made...I think it's a brilliant move from a business standpoint...

pre ordered...pre obligated to pay...specific run production...no excess inventory...everything sold...nothing leftover...

smart idea...

when you're guaranteed "x" amount of sales before you go into production...that's a smart play...

I owned a seafood restaurant for 27 years...we took reservations...but we never really knew what the sales would be before the night started or what inventory to prepare...

this is a smart idea from a business standpoint...

I wonder what is the minimum amount of pre-orders is...before John will commit to production...

I agree this has been a great move for John. I'm still puzzled though at the high numbers sold in comparison to regular releases like the Rogers figure limited to 350 but still available many months later. As I noted before, at least one dealer is selling the CC figures on the shelf. There doesn't appear to be any requirement to be a "member" to buy them. Maybe there is some ebay hoarding going on here even though these are made in greater numbers than some of the regular releases. With that said, I do like the personality figures and hope John keeps them coming in whatever form. Still waiting on that Washington figure for Monongahela in the red coat. :)

I buy all the collectors figures, but personaly I think there are more than enough Snowshoes figures in the series as it is. I would prefer the next CC figure to be from another series such as the Jacobites. Just my opinion.

There are enough sets now for the french and Indians for snow shoes. .... but I still think more rangers are needed.

I think John had said that the Snow Shoe's series was pretty much over...

but the next couple of Collector's Club issues would be Snow Shoes...then it's finished...

he seems to mostly go with celebrities for the Collector's Club...

Halkett, Dunbar, Capt. Jenkins, Lt. Jenkins, Scarouyady, Durantaye...

well...if he stays with celebrities...and if the next few Collector Club sets are going to be from Snow Shoes...

what celebrity is left from that battle...

was their yet another Jenkins that fought at Snow Shoes...:D...Major Jenkins...Private Jenkins...

Has anyone heard if the collector club is going to continue?

I haven't heard anything, but no reason to believe it won't continue. Seems to be doing very well for John. I think with the time lag for ordering each club figure, John got out ahead a bit with several announcements. Now catching up.

Am I mistaken or did John say the next couple of CC sets were going to be Snow Shoes to end the series...

the last set was a SS's...Ensign Durantaye and Cadet Richelieu...

regardless...shipping of the last set was Oct 2010...so next shipping should be due around Jan 2011...but up for purchase option should be very soon...

I'm still hoping we are getting a Capt. Stark and the wolf/dog...Sgt. Beaubien...though if it does get released...it will probably be for St. Francis...

I thought the next snow shoes CC set was to ship this December according to sierra toy soldier.

That sounds right...as I think they should be delivered in Jan...but it seems like we would have had a sneak peek by now...to put our order in...

Mike, if you are not aware - the last of the 2 Snow Shoes sets (JJ-Clubset-05: Ensign Andrew Ross and Captain Henry Pringle), was up for preorder 10th August - 31st August, and is due for delivery next month!

OMG...it seems like sooooooo long ago that I ordered them...JJ's website has the last set as SET#4 Ensign Durantaye, and Cadet Richelieu still...which I have and have also ordered SET#5 Ensign Andrew Ross and Captain Henry Pringle due in January...I was meaning that we should have gotten a preview of SET#6 by now...in the beginning he was pumping them out really fast...seemed like one every two months...but I guess that was to catch up...he actually seems on pace now...

Hi,
The club set #5 (Captain Pringle & Ensign Ross) is available now; I just picked up my set yesterday.
