JJD Advent Calendar 2025 (6 Viewers)

Maybe…….. these drawings are concepts and this is why John was not going to do a calendar. Because he shows is his thoughts and then people whinge and ask why hasn’t this been made? When will this be made?
These are beautiful drawings that may or may not evolve into figures.
John has stopped the weekly updates and was not going to do an advent calendar because of trade uncertainty and because collectors whinge and whine instead of appreciating.
I rekon John would still do a weekly updates if he thought he could show us what is on his mind, what he would like to make, but cant promise as it comes down to business decisions. But i think we know too many people couldnt appreciate that.
I miss the weekly updates so much
Great drawings John, please keep them coming

Are these figures John is bringing out next year or ones he may do in the long term.

Brad, in the past, most of the sketches presented in the "calendar" saw their release as a final product in the following year. In a few cases it took 2 years. However, there have been a couple of rare cases where the sketch was never (or has yet) been developed and released. I would say the big majority of theses sketches will become product releases during 2026.

Thanks Mike.

I think John is being more cautious in his choice of designs. For now, we have a continuation of well-established themes like the Zulus, trappers, and Native Americans... It's a safe bet that these figures will be produced... things are normal for the moment.

Agree, looked through 2024 and 23 and the vast majority of those have released.

I am still hopeful this sketch which was the first hint from John in December 23 of things to come, will make it to the model stage. John’s horses are the best. Robin.

Loving the NNC and hope we get more. They had so much variety. Some were fully clothed and most others, like these guys, almost identical to a Zulu. Many of these tribal warriors had a blanket, or a read headband or red sleeve band to distinguish them from their Zulu enemies. I would love more Nnc and some Nnc European officers

Some great stuff, nothing for me yet or signs of a new range, but still interesting. Have my fingers crossed for some WW2, Jacobites, Saxon and/or Viking [know these have been paused.......].. Was thinking about starting the Gladiator range, but have decided more for the settlers and refugee range, from the picture i have seen it looks like it will be a great sub-range, within the greater range for the period, and will look good on one of my 40cm X 40cm or 50cm X 50 cm shelves in the cabinet.

Yes, we are only seeing North Americans and Zulus so far :(

Always great drawings and interesting pieces. Yes a lot of American stuff but maybe because of increased taxes in IS JJ needs to appeal to US collectors a bit more? I am loving theZulu stuff but like Barkman, would love to see more Saxon, Normans, Vikings… especially some mounted ones. The mostly rode to battle and then dismounted. Would also love to see a few ancients, especially foot Hittites and some more Italian aloies and enemies of Rome from the Punic era
