JJD Advent Calendar 2025 (2 Viewers)

Yes, we are only seeing North Americans and Zulus so far :(

John
Lets hope for some other stuff, as this is will be only a small percentage of JJD annual releases. i did have a bit of what i call a 'lottery calculation', where i look what i need/want to complete the series of TS i collect from various manufacturers, bascially what i would buy if i won the lottery and what JJD stuff i would buy and it is around £8,000. so i have enough to go at, as i generally spend around £3500 annual on TS.

Hoping to see some ACW figs, especially as WB not releasing anything.

John is answering my prayers. I hate to sound specifc because my prayers have been answered but would love some action figures. As Andy said, 3 or 4 sculpts would be great. FFL were one of the bigger irregular units, there were hundreds of them and they were used widely so will be very versatile. Some of the other irregular units like Newcastle Mounted Rifles only had circa 30 troopers

THE PENINSULAR WAR! I'm thrilled to see this pleasant surprise. 2026 is going to be a great year for Napoleonic collectors.

Great to see a soldier in campaign dress, patches in his trousers, boot with his toes showing, and ever watchful for the Frenchmen.

These will be a wonderful addition for collectors wanting the earlier battles on the Peninsular,

Maybe John was inspired by this painting for the figure....

Battle_of_Albuhera,_by_William_Barnes_Wollen.jpg

The Buffs (3rd Regiment) defend their colours, painted by William Barnes Wollen. The engagement saw the 3rd (East Kent) Regiment of Foot (The Buffs) deployed with Lieutenant-Colonel John Colborne's 1st Brigade. They sustained heavy casualties after being surrounded by Polish lancers and French hussars.

Note that the soldiers in the painting are wearing the Belgic Shako, which wasn't introduced until 1812, so John is correct by modelling his with the Stovepipe Shako as worn in 1811.

This guy is very threadbare, he lost his shoe. Hard to fight in one boot
Never going to please the Sargent on the parade ground for sure, but after a few weeks of campaigning, let alone months and years, many were in a far worse state than this with troops wrapping their feet in rags, or even just going bare footed.
