Starting in the Treefrog Room this year we found Richard Walker & Tom Dubel teamed up to hook up those horses to the upcoming Conestoga Wagon! A box of patience was ordered up and delivered successfully I think.

Shown with 3 sets of BAL-03 here.

We have yet another item crossed of John's list!
Fraxinus and Risorgimento should be excited about this one! And before you ask....Oxen are on his list as well!

Off again to see what I can find......

Nice to Richard again. That wagon looks interesting. In the past John has supplied metal tweezers to help you hook up the chains. Really hard even with them, but the finished look is worth it. I will be doing the treasure hunt in spirit. Looks like lots of fun. Robin.

That looks great.
Now, with a Conestoga Wagon coming up, does that mean that John will expand his ranges going to "the West"?
Settlers, Plains Indians, Forts, Cavalry, etc?
I bet it would be great :wink2:

Konrad

Yes Julie, I'm really excited, oxen will be the must, thanks John!! The Conestoga was widely used in the French Indian Wars too, the Forbes expedition of 1758 used hundreds of such wagons for the Army of about 8.000 soldiers.

Just a quick teaser for this morning while sipping my coffee!

There is a traveling "Little Julie" in the mix this year.....she is going on a few adventures out of the rooms as well!

After dinner at Lou Malnati's - Just waiting for the shuttle to pick up the group!

And now off to breakfast soon - then the next stop on the Hunt will continue!

Next discovery for today will be the upcoming Fokker DVII in the Sierra Room!
This prototype will bring more variations of the Fokker! Look forward to more Lozenge pattern Camouflage.
There are 5 versions in production -- Can anyone guess which will be the first????^&confuse

Mike was super happy for his photo to be taken!

Ooooh, the model looks like a "getter" and a "keeper," another subject for the GGC sets to service.:D

The engine detail is very impressive.

If JJ isn't careful, he's gonna end up with a full time job making model airplanes.

As to possible subjects, Lowenhardt's and Udet's were both good looking aircraft. However, both of those esteemed personages have already been immortalized in resin and pewter!

I don't believe that Werner Voss ever graced the cockpit of a D.VII.:(
Betcha Al can posit some reasonable alternatives.:salute::

Oh boy. Several new D-7's in the offing. Literally hundreds of known aircraft to choose from. Moe mentioned Lowenhardt and Udet. I would bet the very famous Udet D-7 would have to be one of them. Hard to find a more colorful D-7. The only possible drawback to the Udet version is the controversy over the actual colors (red or black stripes, etc.) but it would be a beauty anyway. A very different D-7 would be Sachsenberg's of MFJ 1, in it's black and yellow checkerboard design. Very unique looking. Josef Mai of Jasta 5 flew a D-7 with a black and white stripped fuselage and lozenge camo wings. Jasta 18 (Raben's outfit) flew very attractive D-7's in red and white with their famous Raven emblems. There is also the well-known Willy Gabriel D-7 of Jasta 11 with it's red nose and orange ID stripe. I would bet an example of Rudolf Berthold's Jagdgeschwader II aircraft will show up in their red noses and blue fuselages and their varied personel emblems in white. Maybe Franz Buchner's blue and green D-7 with his green and white checkerboard fuselage stripe and famous lion's head emblem will show. Could be Rudolf Stark's lavender marked D-7 is in line or maybe the strikingly marked D-7 of Eduard von Schleich in it's black fuselage, lozenge camo wings and the very intricate Bavarian Lion emblem on it's blue and white checked circular background. There is certainly no shortage of attractive schemes for John to choose from and I will be looking forwards to them in great anticipation. I kind of suspected there would be a flood of D-7's once John had solved the lozenge camo riddle. Bring 'em on! ^&grin^&cool -- Al

I keep hoping that John will do Eugene Bullard's Spad and a figure of Bullard to go with it.

Here's a painting the Lowenhardt Fokker D.VII:

And Udet's:

The Udet aircraft would have lozenge pattern on both sides of the bottom wing and the bottom of the top wing. In terms of customer appear, can't see how Jenkins could go wrong with either of them.

Hi Julie, more clues required....Is this a JJD figure?

Pete

Next stop is George of Minutemen Toy Soldiers!

His prototype is the Crossley Tender --- hmmmmmm - Why did George get the "Crossley" Tender  He always smiles big when he sees me!
This vehicle will be a great essential vehicle to add to your Allied Airfield!

Lancer should be able to point out the main differences between the modified 1917 version, which did not enter service until the end of the war.....at the same time as the Huck Starter.

Trivia note: There will be no "Penguins" for this vehicle! Now why are those drivers called "Penguins"???

For some clarification - the "Little Julie" that is traveling around the Show is another John Jenkins prototype that I personally am ferrying around on the show!
My Final Treasure Hunt Post will be all the info on her but for now you will have to be patient!

Having some fun - hope you are enjoying the travels!!

Last night Dinner was at the Bahama Breeze!

Great pictures, Julie. The Crossley Tender is a real winner, and George looks good too. I'm afraid that I cannot help out on the Tender, as I am not much of a vehicle/truck guy. Now, put some wings on it and we'll talk...:wink2: -- Al
