When John Staniforth aka Johnnybach sadly died last year I ws approchaed by his wife and daughter to see if I could help them out with the very large amount of spare and unfinished figures that were extra to John's collection.

I agreed to take them, and a box of 25kgs of figures arrived!

My original plan was to create some grab boxes for shows where people could sort through them andpick up some uncompleted projects to complete themselves. Hopefully that will still happen if shows restart...

Some other pictures of the contents:

My goal is to finish everything in my gray army before I die, but I think my stash will survive me and end up like this.

It's funny, but I've taken some steps in the same direction as John did, and have acquired some old hollowcasts to rework for my collection. I've also got some Britains solidcasts coming, old London Bridge castings.

Well, it's a treasure trove for other toy soldier painters, to be sure.

Prost!

You are not the only one Brad ..... so many castings, so much painting to do, and not enough time ????

Still having this lockdown going on it sure gives me a excuse not to do other things, and get on with painting castings that have been here for years, like my Hinchliffe 1815 RHA Gun Team ... still got the lead horse to go this weekend :)

reminds me of the lovely helpful and skillful fella John was. I miss his posts and his freely given help and of course the photos of his beautiful shiny soldiers. I can still hear the bands faintly playing..... :)

Wow. I haven't been on the forum alot. I'm so sorry to hear he has passed. I always loved the pictures he would post. He had a great talent for painting and amazing ideas for adding to the uniforms.
Take care.

If you want to sell some I would be really interested in getting anything Indian Army related. Drop me a pm

I see that on the third picture in the first pack, left, first row, there is the right hand little finger of an 1802 ( second semester ) of an Italian voltigeur of the rear guard at Gualtalahara arround 06h00 AM
