Completely agree. I just love logging on to see what you are doing next. You said it right after my two winter WW2 and Civil War diorama. Make a base you can use for multiples. Put a general permanent covering down but make it so you can top it and change it. I have this cordless vacuum that works off my cordless drill batteries. I vacuum the grass or different snow flakes or dirt and rocks off with it separately. Then I dump it in zip locks for reuse.
The diorama makes them all worth so much more to you then the did before like you say. It has also brought the whole family involved and they no longer say....Oh no..more toy soldiers. Now they say what will the diorama be, can we take it to history class, will the theater of battle be sand, snow or what....and can we help.....That is what this forum means to me and friends like you even though I am a stubborn crotchety old man.
They look cool on display and in cases but the diorama is just the deal. I have stepped it up and am finally acquiring some high end built items to go along with my hobby shop and hand mades. By the end of next week I should have a DDAY and First Airborne diorama to knock the socks off!!! Well I hope anyway.
Thanks PA,
