SS069 SS Soldier Kneeling

View attachment 277158

Just ordered this figure, without base, this range of kneeing SS troopers is a great useful set, whether riding a tank, or as i have used some of them, behind a turned over Kubelwagon being ambushed by the older K & C French fighters.

Agree, i have ordered as well, which did you go for? I went with the 19th, will look at a scene where they are walking through the Teutoburg Forest on the look out for an ambush. Or as we used to say on Patrol in NI "Look out for the Ambush but ignore the Bacon Trees".

I went for the 19th and the original red shield pattern. Can never have to many Romans 😁

Agree, but "What did the Romans ever do for us?" Except for the TG Roman and digging out my bank balance.

Hopefully, there will be another set of 4 Romans to add on to these 4.

Great paint work as always from TG, really well done. The skin tones of the Zulu's look particularly nice.

Joe

For the Zulu War, I'd love to see an alternate of the Officer w/ Colour with a bandaged head. It seems the quintessential image of the Victorian era; the young wounded Officer standing to the Colours until the end.

Thats a nice idea, might be something for next year. We have been considering some parade type figures for this series as well, let us know your thoughts guys?
We have something like 10 more action figures for this series coming, another 6 Zulus are in this mix, these will or should be here over the next few months, the last ones being here just in time for Christmas.

Went for the four Roman's (2 with 19th shields), the three firing Zulus, sandbag emplacement and French Indochina figure. It will be a parcel to look forward to. Gary

See where you are coming from, would be good to have a small group of fighting, wounded and dead figures making their stand to protect the colours.

Any chance of adding to the Soviet Victory parade of last year? Perhaps more banners or infantry in soft caps.

Is there a different belt buckel on the left figure?

I'll take a shot at answering this and add some comments on the figures, which I like a lot and already ordered.
These 4 commanders are officers.
In the Heer the crusher cap ( 1,3 and 4th figures) is an officer's item (in the SS it was an officer and an NCO item. but of course never say never!) The second figure has the officer's silver edge on the sidecap. The buckle on the first commander looks to me as an EM buckle, while the others are open, two pronged belt buckles used by officers.
Not sure of the shoulderboards, but might need to touch them up with some silver paint as they seem to be black, EM shoulderboards.
The first figure is wearing a black kombi over the regular black panzer uniform. The kombi has the breast eagle, but the other three commanders are as far as I can see missing their breast eagles.
All 4 figures have the pink piping on the tunic's color, which is fine for officers, but no piping would also work well and be more at home in late war scenarios (which the dark yellow binoculars indicate, together with the PzIII w/sideskirts which is a 1943+ vehicle. In the Heer panzer uniform the shoulderboards would be the same for all ranks, so these are perfect.
Hopefully we will see SS tank commanders. Here it is a bit more complicated as the left collar tab has the rank and the right the runes. Of course the hat insignia is diffeent too. Most SS crushers had white piping, regardless of branch. Not impossible to have non white, but it would be rare.
Can't ever have too many tank commanders. Maybe have some variations with sidecaps and M43 caps.

Nice comments there Eduardo, we have some more coming in new poses and formats as these ones have already sold out here. The reason we did not add the chest eagle on 3 of the figures was because the jacket lapel overlapped the space where most of the eagle would have been, so we went with 'its covered up by the lapel' rather than cutting down decals to fit, which is quite time consuming and only adds to the cost. Of course late war they may not have had time or resources to add all the badges to every uniform.
We will make some Panzer 4 commanders later on and also have a new panzer 4 coming this year.

Best Wishes Jack
