no...not really...hahaha...it just keeps coming in...they really don't know why so much is coming in and are having a difficult time finding ways to dispose of it...it has slowed down tremendously...but not stopped completely...it is sooooooooooooooooo bizzare...

the local radio staion did a parody of Phoebe's "Smelly Cat"...from "Friends" called "Smelly Beach"...hahaha...

the pics are kinda old...3-4 weeks...at the apex of the sargassum washing ashore...but they are accurate...

it's past it's prime...

pretty much back to normal...

Military History:
Vietnam War - On July 23rd, 1969 three military operations were in progress: Operation Distant Trumpet (involved 5th Bat., Royal Australian Regt); Operation Strangle (involved 1st Inf. Division); and Operation Idaho Canyon (involving 3rd Bat. 3rd Marines & 101st Airborne). There were many other operations that were still in progress, but these three were the closest to 23rd of July, 1969 start date.

In WWII, on July 23, 1942 - Rostov falls to German forces; 240,000 Red Army soldiers are taken prisoner.


On a personal note: I believe I was starting on my first overseas assignment, servicing the Caribbean region out of San Juan, PR.
