Dear Gunn Club

This month sees a reduced release as the factory had a production glitch on the sculpting side, which has had a knock on effect for Junes production. Not only that but the factory also seemed to have gotten carried away with Napoleonic’s this month and quite simply forgot to put other products into the pipeline! So for the Napoleonic fans theres a nice selection this month, everybody else will get something next month I am afraid!

It’s been an open secret we have been looking at doing the 95th Rifles for a while and here they are; 10 figures in total with the first 7 being released this month. There are 2 versions of this famous fighting regiment as always. The 1st Battalion in more formal green wear and hard hats and the ‘scruffy’ 3rd Battalion! Both Battalions were at Waterloo, the 3rd had not long disembarked from Spain and had not yet been issued new uniforms. We have shown the 3rd wearing a mixture of dress including ‘Portugese brown’ trousers and soft hats. You have the option to therefore display the 3rd as a Waterloo or a Peninsular combatant for your dioramas.

There is also a single WW2 release, but he’s extremely limited and only a few dealers will receive this figure. Please read below for more details:

NAP011

95th Rifles Quick Reload! A very worried looking rifleman hurriedly pushes his ramrod down the barrel of his rifle, could it be French infantry or cavalry hurtling towards him? The A version comes with our figure wearing traditional hard hat; the B version wears the more comfortable softer cap. Priced at $33.50 and available 11th June 2012.

NAP012

95th Rifles Standing Firing: One of our band of brothers fires off his rifle in the classic standing firing pose. The A version comes with our figure wearing the traditional hard hat whilst the B version seems to have lost his hat altogether! Priced at $33.50 and available 11th June 2012.

NAP013

95th Rifles Running Forward to assist his comrades or to get into a better firing position. The A version once again wears hard hat whilst the B version wears ‘Portugese brown’ trousers and soft hat. Priced at $33.50 and available 11th June 2012.

NAP014

95th Rifles Sergeant Shouting: An overall great action pose, our Sgt shouts orders to control his men as the French approach. Who knows what the outcome will be, but this hard nut with years of experience hopes lady luck will go his way! Once again the A version wears the hard hat and the B version is just wearing an unruly mop of hair and grey trousers! Priced at $33.50 and available 11th June 2012.

NAP015

95th Rifles Bugler: The Rifles took no drums or colours into battle with them, all orders were carried out using a bugle or by voice command. Our kneeling bugler calmly sounds out new orders whilst the battle rages around him. The A version wears the green hard hat whilst the B version wears the soft cap and ‘Portugese brown’ trousers. Priced at $33.50 and available 11th June 2012.

NAP016

95th Rifles Corporal Looking Forward: Every platoon has a Corporal who is the backbone of the unit. Our Corporal pushes his hat up to get a better view of where best his men should place themselves before the French get into range. The A version wears green trousers whilst the B version wears French blue trousers – borrowed no doubt off some unlucky French man! Priced at $33.50 and available 11th June 2012.

NAP017

95th Rifles Kneeling Ready: Our kneeling rifleman waits ready to let off a shot or is he preparing to move off to a better position? The A version wears the traditional hard hat whilst once again the B version wears a soft cap and French blue trousers. Priced at $33.50 and available 11th June 2012.

SOV002

Winter Tank Rider. We made 50 of the tank rider from SOV001 in a winter version with white trousers and gloves. A great figure that can be used as a tank rider or in the prone ambush position. We had planned to offer these as a Gunn Club special but have now sent all of these on to our dealers, who were sent SOV001 last month with the tank rider figure missing as an apology. If you are after one of these figures I suggest that you contact your dealer and see if he has any for sale.

SS039 Puma

I have attached pictures of an early July release for all of you WW2 fans who are feeling left out. The SdKfz 234/2 Puma was an 8 wheeled armoured car issued in 1944 to certain elite German units. Armed with a 5cm cannon and a top speed of

50 MPH this beautiful looking armoured car was capable of taking on any Allied light or medium tank if challenged. We have made 150 in a Normandy colour scheme and 150 in a BOB winter scheme, both vehicles in the markings of 1st SS Panzer Division.

Priced at around $139 I don’t know of any other manufacturer making such a high quality 8 wheeled armoured car at such a competitive price!

That’s all for this month, please feel free to drop me an email with any queries.

Kind Regards

Vicki Lucas

Outstanding!! To Say The Least!! I just love the new Napoleonic's!!!. I will look forward to next month for WW1 and WW2.

Great job TG!!!

Ludwig!!

A great bunch of 95th and apparently 6 more to come ! Plenty of variety in the poses.

Armoured cars also look very good.

Well done to TG.

Puma 234/2
Normandy version
If we are talking about the 1st SS PzDiv LAH, then a few minor alterations are necessary for this 111 vehicle:
The German cross should follow the number 111 and be placed on the second half of the turret and instead of a cross between wheel one and two there should be the number 1 (111 = 1st company, 1st platoon (zug), 1st vehicle)
There should also be a German cross on the back side of the turret.
The exact colour must be : african yellow with soft-edged stripes of dark earth.I do not think this particular vehicle was fitted with a umbrella radio antenna. So a little bit of rework to meet more historical accuracy will be in order. But all in all a very nice vehicle.

I agree. Great poses. It's always a nice feature of Tom's soldiers that you can choose the uniform style you want or buy the lot if you can afford to do so.
Great price as well.^&grin

Guy..

Agree about the balkencruz being misplaced. I have been perusing through my own photo collection and have a few shots of LAH troops at rest in Normandy prior to the invasion ( a couple of days) and all balkencruz are placed turret side on. some are above the regimental number some behind (these are of Puma armoured cars) As for the colour in the pics I have and some from the LAH books available to everyone you can clearly see there is a three way colour combo or, tri camo on the vehicles so, some units may have had more paint than others or, as was the case artistic license was applied by the crews in the field.

So, I would venture that this colourway could be used without the need for a change and, I am always sceptical of artists colour plates as they always seem to have a personal idea of what an AFV would look like rather than be accurate to the way that the black and white and, the few rare colour shots of german AFV's in the field in western theatres show german AFV's.
