Junkers Ju-52 Iron Annie-Authentic Models in 1:30 (?) (1 Viewer)

Thanks for the link. This looks very nice and it is indeed a great price. The good thing for me, is its unpainted which allows a really interesting project for the price of the HK kits I have bought recently. Size does look good also

For sure the price is much much better than any wooden plane out there made by other "name brand" company ^&grin. It also looks very detail to me and it's all METAL. I kind of like the bare metal look of it. I'm looking forward to the painted version if you decide to get it Mitch {sm4}

I also like the metal look but my first thought was a winter camo variant a bit like the one in where eagles dare. I have sent them off an e-mail asking a few more questions if they all come back how I expect I will buy one

There is also a DC-3 and I compared it's measurements (25.50" L x 38.25" W) with the real thing (64 ft 8 in L x 95 ft 2 in W) and it is 1:30 too. I'm no modeling expert, but think it will do the magic; do you guys think it will reasonably pass by a Dakota C-47 if properly painted? Here's the link: http://www.magellanmodels.com/Dakota-DC-3-Authentic-Models-p9779.html

It'll sure do once repainted. This guy bought the DC-3 and he's pretty happy with it

You look like you are good at maths...I am hopeless....here is a little puzzle you may be able to solve for me....the cabin area of a DC3 is 30 ft long...6ft 7 inches high and 7 ft 8 inches wide..(approx )....would a 1/30 scale figure be the correct scale for the Dc3 or too large ..there is a 1 ft to 1ft 6 inches well under the cabin floor....allowing for the space under the cabin floor would a 60mm figure be too large to stand in the cabin......hairy question...I cannot work it out....regards TomB

These look really good. Did you see teh Flying Circus Jenny on there? $159!

There's a review of another AM model, its Sopwith Camel, here:

http://tdhp.fr.yuku.com/topic/12470#.UqtXsvslh7Y

An important factor to consider when perusing the silk-covered line is that detail decreases with scale. In other words, the larger the scale, the better the detail. Because of this, it might be a bad idea to assume that the smaller replicas, of a Camel perhaps, are necessarily as finely done as the larger scales of the same type.
