I know the people who make K&C have got to be busy. I just had a suggestion that I think it would be cool to see the German, Otto Skorzeny, and the glider based assault at Gran Sasso to rescue Mussolini. Maybe somebody has already brought this up. Just suggesting it, not a demand.

Keep on keeping on

I think we have suggested everything under the sun. That sounds like a good one though. Otto could also be a natural for the Bulge series.

I am not a big WWII collector but even I have heard of this guy. Sound like a very interesting idea. Nice way perhaps to restart the WWII line of airplanes.

noli-poli why don't you post some more pictures of your C-47 so the new forum members can see your custom mahogany plane. :)

Yeah. I second that motion. Your Dakota looks sooo cool.

I would love to see a K&C Dakota and a Junkers Transport, especially after seeing the posting from a few weeks ago of Louis' planes. Gliders would be great too. Michael

Alex, Michael:

Here goes. These are the earlier photos(2004) taken in a rush. I was then packing for my move to Arizona when the C-47 was delivered. I hope to make a better diorama as soon as I am settled down.

The model is custom made from solid Philippine Mahogany wood. Wingspan is 42" and length is 38."
Cost is $2,000 + SH ($75).

Oh yeah, now that's what I call cool man. :) That plane is fantastic and when it’s shown next to K&C, what a vision it makes. Thanks for posting the pictures again.

I often daydream at work, well who doesn't. My daydreams are really not very realistic.

I daydream that all toy soldiers are the same scale (1/31 just to split the difference and not make any particular manufacturer think bad of my dreams, as if my thoughts and dreams count anyway, I am just one collector among many who each has their own wish list).

I daydream that my vehicles have fully turning front wheels and functional suspensions for the tracks.

I day dream that my wheeled vehicles have canvas covers that are aged to match and fit the vehicle (something I tried and failed at).

I day dream that the K&C vehicles, still resin, can do the same functions as the FOV vehicles and that they complement each other to a "t".

I daydream that if I think of a vehicle, battle, and unit or have any other creative idea that might strike my fancy, it's offered by at least one manufacturer within a week.

I daydream that I have enough money to satisfy my desire to build a separate building dedicated to my hobbies.

I daydream that I will have enough creativity to be able to make displays and dioramas that are museum quality.

I daydream alot. My friends and family tell me that I should do less. My doctor says they are distorted reality that is only making me more of a collector obsessive. Hah, what the heck do they know anyway. I love this stuff. :) Michael

Well Carlos, I just buildt a separate building dedicated to your hobbies, so does that make you feel any better? Here is the new 2006 Treefrog addition:

Combat

You sure have a valid point that about everything has been suggested. Before you know it people will be asking Andy to sculpt toy soldiers that look like themselves. Would you call that a signature series? Then when all else fails you could always go home and play with yourself.

Have a good one

Yikes! Perhaps I should spend more time making my pictures smaller before I post them! It's practically large as life! Okay not that big, but bigger than necessary!

Thanks Shannon, I think I've just used my entire monthly ISP download allowance on that pic :) It looks like you guys live out of town, unless your backyards are really big in the US.

Btw I was wondering what that roof covering is made from as we don't have roofing like that downunder.

OzDigger, I live a few hundred miles north of Shannon and Pete. There is lots of room here in the frozen North (Minnesota), in town or in the country. That roof is made of asphalt shingles with a felt paper underlining. Good for between 20 to 30 years, depending on the type you buy and the weather conditions it experiences. We have to use roof rakes to remove heavy snow in the winter. Home owners insurance does not cover snow damage. I guess the insurance adjusters figure that we just need to get off our dead as@es and move the snow off the roof before any damage can occur. Ice ****s can occur when some of the snow on the roof melts and then refreezes forming a wedge of ice that does not allow natural drainage and the water that comes from the following thaws backs up and satuarates the roofing material. The ice moves under the shingles and allows the water to inflilltrate.

Roofing 101 is now complete. The test will be on Monday. So endith the lesson. Sometimes my need to teach others lets my mouth and key board run on. :D Michael
