:) Hello again! I just Purchased 10-Hatchette French Foreign Soldiers , in a ( Ready for Action Pose's)! They are a Little Bit Smaller than K & Country; but if you Added a 1/8th of an Inch Base, then they would fit with Andy's, NEW Vichey French Desert Sets! Also, you could Paint a Plastic 1/30 Sherman Tank, from Heng Long Company, in China and put French Markings on Tank, then you will have a Nice Grouping of Free French for the Battle of Bir Hachem, N. Africa 194-43! Also, on the Palm trees and Camel Set; you should buy Dept.56,it may be Retired ( Bethelem)? Expensive but Realistic and Andy uses, these in some of his Displays!

Many of us are now waiting on the exclusive Morbshock (Nick) Palm Trees :)

I have the Hachett FFl figures, the first 30.
Just for your info, and I got this from Andy N., K&C did only the first thirty figures to this set, the last 20 are done by someone else.
It is a nice set.

John, the French had NO Shermans of any sort at Bir Hachiem! The Brits just got M4A1s and M4A2s in time for Alamein. If the French had ANY armor support, it was likely British or Commonwealth. The French first received Shermans during the rebuilding of the Free French Forces in North Africa in 1943. The US 70th Tank battalion (in M5 Stuarts) provided armor support to the French corps in Tunisia. There was a French Expeditionary Corps in the mountains in Italy, but most of the armor support was US. I don't think a French Sherman fired a shot in anger until the summer of 1944 when the French 2nd Division Blinde' (Armored Division) landed in Normandy. Later the 1st DB and 5th DB landed in southern France. There is a GREAT new book out on the French Shermans in WW2 that I will post into the "Books/Magazines.." section.
