A nice jolt. Felt it here in Gettysburg. Post is reporting 5.8.

The house shook here in New York.{eek3} Still don't have cell phone service. But I checked the collection and nothing fell - I guess the precautions I take to keep stuff from falling when my kids run around up there kept my toy soldiers safe from the mild earthquake.:wink2:

Hit at 1351 hours and has been updated to a 5.9 and I have had several casualties amongst my TS collection. Had some 3 dozen lancers knocked over and several infantry and tank riders went down, too. About 5 broken rifles, lances, equipment, and 3 riders broken loose. Blast, guess I have to break out the super glue. Reports are that this is the strongest earthquake in this region since 1897. -- Al

I hope you formed a human shield over those JJ planes! Appears to have been centered in N.VA. So you likely got a bigger jolt than we did here. Watch out for the aftershocks.

Sorry to hear about the damage Al, but maybe this will "shake up" the O's:):) I had to say it!!...Sammy

They evacuated the building here in Madison, NJ. Still a little frazzled by it.

LOL! They need it.:rolleyes2: Thanks, the damage was minimal, fortunately. -- Al

Relax, it was just the US Congress actually doing something for the good of the country, that caused the earth to move. No worries, they will now return to their dormant state.

No damage to the Air Force, thank you. I keep those way back on the shelf. Don't think they moved much but my cavalry took a beating, though nothing went over the side. Just fell over.{sm5}{sm2} Can't be doing this earthquake crap. This is the second shaking in 13 months. Took a 3.6 last July and now this 5.9. -- Al

I work in a metal stamping and press shop of a lighting fixture plant. I wouldn't have felt a thing.

Glad no worse damage Al. Earthquakes are a new phenomenon to deal with in your area. Chris

We had pallet racks shake pretty good in our warehouse and the lights were swinging a lot.Our Teamsters came running out of the racks.Never seen them move so fast unless there was free food being offered.{eek3}^&grin.Heard reports of minor quakes in Colorado and Arkansas the last couple of days, any truth to these? May get hit with hurricane in a few days.Mother Nature sure loves to test her children.

Thanks, Chris. Wait till you see the new UMd football "uniforms". They got 4 different color jersey's (red, black, yellow, or white, sound familier?) and 4 different color pants to mix and match. Plus black helmets (didn't see an emblem). Jeesh, I think the circus wagon broke down while traveling through College Park.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Two jokes making the rounds in the wake of yesterday's quake:

It was the effect of all of our Founding Fathers turning over in their graves at the same time.

The President issued a statement from Martha's Vinyard: "It was Bush's fault."

For the record, we have quakes here in the East Coast more frequently than people would think, but they're usually of very low strength. We sit in the middle of the North American plate, rather than on the boundary where two plates meet, so the fault lines are more from settling and cracking on a huge scale.

In our building, it felt like a fat guy walking past. Our floor has a little bit of a bounce to it, anyway.

Prost!
Brad
